Yucca, care at home.

At first glance it may seem that yucca can only grow in very warm places, for example, somewhere in Mexico. However it has got accustomed and at us. If you buy a plant such as yucca, care at home can be provided to her without much effort. Increased attention to yucca requires only the very beginning of its acquisition. Since not all plants like to change places, they are no exception. Therefore, if it appeared in the yucca house, home care is primarily about selecting the right and moist place.

Since the yucca plant is resistant to droughts, it does not greet abundant watering, as stagnant water can lead to decay of the roots. But spraying should be done regularly, especially at elevated temperatures, but also try not to overdo it. Yucca is a plant that loves moderate sunlight. Direct rays of the sun are inadmissible, the leaves immediately react to it.

Feeding it is carried out with the onset of spring at least once in two months.

You can propagate yucca with both cuttings and seeds. But for reproduction with the help of seeds you need to have a lot of patience, and it, as a rule, is not always enough. Therefore, propagation by cuttings is the most convenient method, which does not require any special knowledge. The stalk, as usual, is put in a container of water, and all that is needed is to wait for the roots to appear. You can dig it directly into the ground, previously fertilized, but in this case you need to increase watering, until the plant becomes fully rooted. The temperature should be maintained about twenty degrees.

If the yucca has successfully taken root, home care includes regular transplantation. A young plant must be transplanted annually. A tree, which is two or three years old, is already considered an adult, and it must be transplanted at least once every three to four years. Yucca does not need any special soil. It is quite suitable for universal priming. The only and mandatory condition is drainage, since the presence of excess moisture for yucca is highly undesirable. After transplantation during the day, the plant should be placed in the shady part of the room, then it must be returned to its original place. During the month, it is advisable not to disturb the yucca, as it is experiencing a period of adaptation. No fertilizing should be done, but a good regular watering is mandatory.

Since yucca is a plant that is light-loving and loves fresh air, in the summer it can be carried out on the street or on the balcony, without forgetting to protect it from direct sunlight. After a month, you can carefully apply and mineral fertilizers. Water from the tray must be removed, otherwise if the decay of the roots is allowed, then it will be very difficult to save the plant. But there is a way that still allows it to be done. It includes the formation of air roots. For this, it is necessary to carefully separate a part of the cortex near the stem, approximately fifteen centimeters above the damaged area. Then this place should be covered with sphagnum, necessarily wet, and covered with plastic wrap. The moss should be wetted regularly, its drying is unacceptable. In about two weeks, new young roots will appear. For them to grow stronger, it is necessary to withstand some time, then it is necessary to cut off the damaged area, and plant the plant in fresh soil, and it is desirable to use a new pot. In the old pot, the disease can resume.

Care for a yucca in the winter is somewhat different from summer care. It should be taken into account that in the winter the yucca falls into a state of rest, therefore it is not necessary to disturb it particularly during this period. The main requirement is to give her a cool, but bright place. The temperature should be at least eight degrees of heat. In the feeding of yucca during this period does not need. Spraying should also not be done. Watering should be moderate.

That's what a yucca is, home care is perfectly acceptable to anyone who has decided to purchase this beautiful, unusual plant.
