Wild horses, life at will

The horses were always there. There are domestic horses, without which a man can not at all, you need to plow and harvested the harvest, on holidays to ride with a breeze on the top three, but what else is there. And there are wild horses, a free tribe, they live by themselves, only the steppe ones observe the laws, they never eat enough, which is why they are taut and light. Most of the wild horses are former domestic, with whom fate has been cruel. Either the horse lost its owner and was wild in the wild, or lost itself, lost its way and then nailed to the herd of wild horses. Still there are wild horses from birth, born into the world beyond any selection, in nature. In any case, the true Mustangs are not much different from the wild ones, both of them live, migrate, give offspring and are part of the horse brotherhood on both sides of the Atlantic, on all continents and in all lands except the northern latitudes and frozen Antarctica.

The herd of wild horses can grow up to 80 - 100 goals, if conditions favor this. A river or lake with fresh water is essential for increasing the population, and the forage base in the form of natural pastures with dense grass is the guarantee of the calm life of the mustangs. Sometimes wild horses join the herd, which was formed long ago. After some difficulties, they are accepted. Each herd is divided into several schools of 20-30 horses in each. The owner of the shoal is a leader, an adult horse, healthy and strong. Each horse has a herd flair, she knows all her fellows on the doorpost, the leader and the young tribe, who needs an eye and an eye. Foals do not think that you need to stick around your own, run away and wander in the distance, forcing the mare to marry.

After all, wild horses also have enemies: wolves and bears, lynx and leopard, which are just waiting for the foal suckling foal from the herd and remain without protection. Over the long centuries of free life in the steppe and in the prairies, the mustangs learned to defend themselves. When attacking a pack of wolves, like animals, horses feel danger and get lost in a tight ring in such a way that the hind legs turn out to be outside the circle and predators can not approach without the risk of getting hit with a heavy hoof. Young animals, along with mares, are located inside the circle, and adult stallions keep a circular defense.

Mustangs do not usually hunt, they do not value the prey, horse meat is considered third-rate meat and does not use demand. Sometimes cattlemen catch mustangs to tame and domesticate. But wild horses by nature do not yield to education, they are very difficult to saddle and it is almost impossible to travel. If from the number of Mustangs comes a wild horse, but previously lived in the master herd, it is easier with him, since some reflexes of home life are kept in the horse's mind and he only needs to be reminded of the past. But the wild horses, the photos of which you see, are sometimes wild enough to return them to their old life and you have to let go.

Equine so developed at the present time that it is easier to buy a ridden home horse than to mess with a stubborn and wayward savage, trying to instill in him good manners. Therefore, few people want to tame mustangs, except for sports competitions in extreme equestrian sport, when brave men try to stay on the back of an unbroken and barely saddled mustang for as long as possible. Such competitions, called rodeos, are popular in North America, there even have their champions.
