Why do we need a family? Family life. Family History

A family is a social unit of a society that has existed for a very, very long time. For many centuries people have been marrying to each other, and all this seems to be the standard, the norm. However, now, when humanity is moving away from traditionalism further and further, many are asking themselves: why do we need a family? In modern society, people can love each other, but they do not need to marry. Increasingly, there are cases when even children are born in a civil marriage, that is, in fact, with cohabitants. And in such circumstances the question of why a family is needed is more than acute. It's time to sort this out and understand whether the institution of the family is out of date. Or is it still relevant?

Independent attempts

If you are trying to understand why you need a family, then do not immediately turn to articles and directories. First of all, you need to look deep into your own self and look for the answer there. Take a sheet of paper and a pen, think for a while, ask yourself a question that interests you, and then try to accurately describe the reasons that come to your mind. In detail, analyze your feelings about the family and its creation, marriage and its conclusion, as well as the relationship between two people. Do they need to go to a new level, and if you think you need, then why? Try not to be guided by the opinion of anyone else: each person is unique, and he should have his own approach to any question. When you make a list, you can soberly evaluate it and understand why a family is needed or why it is not needed.

The settings of society

Many people do not know how family relations developed in their ancestors. However, those for whom the history of their family is accessible, understand that in the past a marriage was imposed on society. That is why the moral attitude of society arose: if you want to live with a young man or girl, you need to marry. Otherwise it will be immoral. Therefore, very many people still adhere to these attitudes. Of course, in modern society they have already weakened, but not everywhere. Moreover, public attitudes could actually collapse, but in the minds of people, bans often continue to live. That is why people also strive to make serious acquaintances, turn them into romantic ties, and then consolidate such ties by marriage. However, this is not the reason for the existence of the family - the reasons should be in another. Now serious acquaintances can last a lifetime and not end in marriage. Why is it necessary to create a family in modern society? And is it worth it at all?

Happy marriage

Why do you need a family for a woman? It often happens that a man does not really want to marry. There is even a common stereotype that a wedding day for a woman is happy, and for a man - a mourning. And although almost always this stereotype is not confirmed, women still often tend to marry much more than men - to get married. For them, the very fact of the wedding, binding by marriage, is important, that is, the family can exist simply for no special reasons. And it's not bad, because if there is an affair between people that is strong enough, then there is no problem that future spouses did not sit down and did not discuss in detail why they want to go to the registry office. However, as in the previous case, this item can not be called a full-fledged reason. So why do you need marriage and family?

Birth of children

It has already been said above that children in modern society often give birth outside the family, confining themselves to a civil marriage. However, this does not mean that children can not serve as the reason for creating a family. In this case, however, there are two sides to the coin. If we take the negative side, then we should consider those cases when the family is created because of the appearance of the child. Unfortunately, such cases happen very often: a guy and a girl have a baby, and therefore they marry urgently to grow up in a full-fledged family. Yes, it is worth noting that although it is possible to have a child without a family and can, but with convenience it definitely does not differ, since one of the parents, in fact, has absolutely no rights to this child, that is, they have only a genetic connection.

It's time to consider the positive side of the coin. Many people who are in serious relationships want to have children. And they decide to create a family to facilitate this process, and to provide the child with a full-fledged prosperous future.

Integration into society

Another reason, which is very important, is the integration into modern society. The fact is that everyone has the right to choose - live in a civil marriage, just meet a lifetime or get married. However, when it comes to public trivia, marriage wins over all indicators. Take at least the simplest example: if one of the spouses gets to the hospital, then only close relatives will be allowed to visit him. And the first on this list will be the other spouse. However, if there is no official marriage between you, then you generally do not have your loved one, therefore, you do not have the right to visit him in the hospital. And this applies to all spheres: you can not file and take documents, you can not officially vouch for a person, and so on. In general, modern society, although it does not force people to make marriages, as it was before, but it is built in such a way that the family remains its main cell.

Family History

It is not known at which stage of the development of mankind the family appeared. Scientists are arguing about this for more than a decade, and they are also discussing why this social cell emerged. However, we all know that in all ages people have joined families to continue the family. Most of the history of the family was exclusively patriarchal, but in recent times the rigid standards began to weaken and the family became a much freer term. And the conditions in it can now only be asked by those who formed it.
