Why did China call "China" and "China"

When we have time for reflection, we begin to look for answers to seemingly simple questions. Here, for example, why did China call "China", and not somehow differently? In this densely populated state, a fifth of our planet lives. On account of why this country is named this way, there are several very interesting theories, each of which may very well turn out to be true.

Historical theory

Earlier, modern China was divided into two parts: northern and southern. In its northern part was a state founded by the tribes of the Whales, and it was called "Liao". The southern part at that time belonged to the Mongols. Where did the indigenous tribes of Liao, for certain is unknown to this day. According to individual sources, they also owe their origin to the Mongols. But there is also other information that they originated from the Tungus-Manchu tribes. In the future, residents of a number of located states and began to call the northern territories - "China".

In principle, this theory can be an answer to the question of why China was called "China." But how did this name come to us in Slavonic speech? After all, the name of this country in different dialects sounded differently: Cathay, Hatay, Khitan and China.

Etymological theory

In English, the name "China" appeared in the twelfth century and it was written like this: "Cathay" (now it is written differently - "China"). There is an interesting proposition that "China" China began to be called after the Qin dynasty arose . And in the Russian dictionary this word got into the fifteenth century in the form that it is now.

But it is worth recalling that "China" was called only a small part of its territory, and the name came to us after the Qin dynasty collapsed. In fact, not even all Chinese know why China was called "China." Hence, we can confidently say that there is no specific meaning in this word, this is sometimes found in the history of names and names.

Why China is called "Celestial"

The country with the largest population in the world actually has several names. The Chinese themselves call their country "Celestial", and the citizens of other countries call it "China" or "China".

If you look at the very word "Celestial", then in Chinese it consists of two hieroglyphs - "Tien" and "Xia". The first in translation means "day", "sky", and the second means "foot", "bottom". So there is something like "Celestial".

The Chinese have long worshiped the sky and believe that it is their patronage only for their country. And the rest of the people do not have heaven.

There is another name for China - "Zhong Guo" - "the way of the earth". Such a philosophy is understandable, because no one in particular invaded China, did not seek to win it. Therefore, it is understandable why the Chinese consider their country to be the middle of the world.

And so, while we reflect on why China was called "China," the people of this country are rapidly developing and occupying niches in international trade markets. So maybe they are actually the main inhabitants of the Earth, despite the fact that the civilization got to them, infecting them with opium and the communist system?
