Why children do not sleep at night - the reasons and ways to overcome.
Probably all parents of small children are concerned with the question: "Why do not children sleep at night?" It would seem quite logical that the newborn almost all the time eats and sleeps. So in fact, no! That you have to sleep for two hours, then he wants to sleep only on the handles, then he wakes up twenty times a night, bringing his parents to a frenzy ... What's the matter? Many inexperienced moms and dads are taken to sound the alarm and suspect the baby of various diseases, although in most cases everything is not so scary.
The most common cause is usually the stuffiness in the room. Parents, fearing to catch a crumb, literally "pack" all the cracks, but in the stuffiness and the adult it's hard to sleep. In this case, it is better to warm the baby at night and maintain a comfortable temperature in the room. And be sure to air before going to bed.
Also, the frequent cause of a night "concert" is colic. As a rule, this is the problem of children up to 3-4 months, it is removed with special medications, warmth on the tummy, massage clockwise, adjusting the menu of the nursing mother or selecting the right mixture.

In general, the norms of sleep for children are defined by pediatricians for a long time. For children up to six months, the norm of sleep is 16-18 hours a day. Naturally, someone needs 20 hours, and someone enough and 14. But a strong deviation from the norm - an occasion to consult a doctor!
By the half-year the amount of sleep is reduced to 13-14 hours a day, and by the year - up to 11-12 hours. Again, everything is individual.
Very often parents are so worried about why children do not sleep at night, that they forget about the main thing: calm parents are a quiet kid. The less nervous you are, the less reason the child has for that, and the calmer his sleep.
