What is volleyball? This game has been known for a very long time. It is believed that volleyball originated in the United States of America almost in the late nineteenth century, it was 1895 is considered the year of the appearance of this game. According to the official version, volleyball was invented by a physical education teacher from one American college. He simply hung a grid for tennis between two trees and started with the students to throw the ball through it. And literally six months later, the first rules of the game were formulated, which, of course, differ from modern ones.

According to the legends, the teacher invented the game for middle-aged men who, for various reasons, could not engage in super-popular basketball then. According to another version, it was invented by American firefighters, who thus spent their time waiting for a call.

Between the sets there is a break, intended for changing platforms, and it lasts three minutes. In this case, the coach can request a ten-minute break, but only between the second and third set.

Beach volleyball

The rules are almost identical to ordinary volleyball, but teams that consist of two people play. In this game is played on the site strewn with sand.
