The plot of the post-apocalyptic drama was based on a comic series "Walking Dead" (released in October 2003), created by three talented writers, Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore.

The series was doomed to success not only because of the growing popularity of comic books. The role of the director in the new project was agreed to by Frank Darabont, in the coin box of which there were already sensational paintings "Escape from Shawshank", "Green Mile" and "Mist".

The premiere of "TWD" took place on the AMC channel on the eve of Halloween - October 31, 2010. In the first season a small list of series was presented. "Walking dead" from the very beginning attracted the attention of the audience and deserved the approval of critics. In the next house, Morgan Jones took refuge with his son Dwayne. They tell the sheriff's assistant about the latest developments. Presumably, the wife and son of Rick could go to Atlanta. After them, taking the weapon from the police station, Grimes himself is traveling.

In a metropolis full of "walking", Rick meets surviving people who lead him to a small camp. There is a long-awaited reunion of the family. The heroes are attacked several times by the dead, and then they decide to go to the Center for Disease Control. Unfortunately, the only scientist does not give a hope for the invention of a vaccine. The next stop of the Rick Grimes group is Fort Benning.

On the farm

On the way to Fort Benning, the survivors get caught in a traffic jam. The highway is crammed with abandoned cars, so people search for useful things by visiting them. Suddenly, a crowd of "walking" appears, and during the commotion little Sophie - Carol's daughter - disappears. The group starts looking for the girl in the forest, which leads them to the farm of Herschel Green.

In the big house, the survivors also live, so Riku and the rest have to camp nearby. The second season of the series "Walking Dead" (release date - October 16, 2011) takes place on the farm Herschel. Here the wife of Grimes Laurie learns of pregnancy, and several members of the group die.

In the end, the security of a new place is in question. Zombies attack all the inhabitants of the farm, and several survivors fight back from the main group. The search for a new shelter leads the heroes of the series to an abandoned prison.

Behind bars

According to the viewers, the third was one of the most interesting seasons. Shortly before the filming of the series "Walking Dead" Frank Darabont left, but the interest of fans because of permutations in the team was not lost.

Survivors after the attack of the dead in the second season for a long time sought shelter. For the wife of Rick Laurie to find such a place was especially important, because she was in the last months of pregnancy. Finally, on the way they find a prison. In the end, two groups of survivors intersect, and the real war begins, which the mentally ill Governor has started. After several clashes, Rick and his allies win, together with them many people come to the prison Woodbury.

Fourth season. Part 2

On the screens the Governor comes back, who found another group of people. He pushes them out for Rick's revenge. However, because of an unexpected attack on the territory of the prison, zombies break through too, the Governor perishes, and many can not escape.

The Rick Grimes group is divided. In search of each other, the heroes see posters telling about the "Terminus" asylum, to which the railway tracks lead.

Visiting cannibals

In the second half of the season, Rick Grimes and friends learn about the surveillance. A young man who watched the heroes for a while, invites them to Alexandria - a real refuge, a small town where he managed to preserve civilization.

Alexandria

In October 2015, the screens again appeared "The Walking Dead". Season 6, according to tradition, divided into two parts. The first eight episodes of the audience have already seen, and the premiere of the ninth series is scheduled for February 14, 2016.
