Vintage is what?

Vintage is what? Previously, this term was used in winemaking and meant a mature, aged wine. But relatively recently the concept migrated to the world of fashion. Nowadays vintage things are understood by those who were made long ago, in another era. They carry in themselves its style and mood. They have passed the test of time and have not lost their relevance and charm.

Vintage is a special style. These are not just stagnant things of many years ago. They are distinguished by an ideal condition, many of them are made by hand. Now especially fashionable are things in the style of the 20-ies of the twentieth century: dresses, handbags, hats, ornaments. You can buy them in fashion stores, and in picturesque flea markets.

The idea to transform the fashionable hits of the past years into a new style arose in London in the early 70s of the twentieth century. Industry at this time massively produced fashionable, but the same clothes. Therefore, for the aesthetes and bohemians, the first vintage salon - the legendary Biba - was opened. The models sold there were in the style of the 1930s.

Clothing vintage - it's retro things, wardrobe items (either original or stylized antique.) A vintage accent in the guise should be one. This style does not tolerate incontinence and accidents. All the details must be thought out and perfectly matched to each other.

Dress vintage should obviously be associated with the fashion era, be recognizable in style. For example, in the 1920s in the fashion were geometric outfits with a low belt, in the 1940s - broad-shouldered tweed jackets, in the 1950s - lush skirts-bells. Separate trends of those times became classics - dresses-shirts, patterns of Burberry, etc.

Genuine vintage - these are things made no later than 1980. In the West and in the United States, they prefer clothing that was not released until the 1950s. A special trend of the vintage market is the costumes of film legend. For example, toilets of fashion icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich. Vintage fabrics have a distinct style of their fashion period. Of these, sew on authentic old patterns or use very modern styles. All the resulting output successfully blends into the style.

Pseudo-vintage is clothing and accessories made from artificially aged materials. It is often difficult to distinguish an original thing from a stylized thing. Clothing in this style is produced by almost all famous fashion houses, not to mention individually working stylists and tailors.

There is also a combined vintage. Under it we mean clothes that were made using modern materials, and genuine vintage fabrics and accessories. In addition, there is a stylization of a-la vintage - these are quite modern collections, in which the ideas of silhouettes, drawings, decorations, decorations, cuts of clothes of the past were taken as a basis. Now almost all designers beat this topic. Even in Russia, you can find shoes, sewn on the patterns of the 1870s.

Vintage dresses can be seen on the stars of Hollywood, because they are exclusive and costly. For example, one of the rare vintage dresses from Dior, created in 1954, Natalie Portman wore in 2012 to receive the Oscar, than attracted the incredible attention of collectors.
