Valentina Oseeva - biography of the writer

Soviet writer, laureate of the Stalin Prize, talented teacher - Valentina Oseeva. Her biography is detailed in the article.

Restless childhood

April 15, 1902 in Kiev in the family of an engineer was born a girl named Valichka. Her father, Alexander Dmitrievich, was a revolutionary, took an active part in the events of 1905. Gendarmes hunted after him; Although he was hiding under a foreign name, the tsarist police eventually arrested him. Mother, Ariadna Leonidovna, worked as a proofreader in a local newspaper and also took part in revolutionary activity.

Valentina Oseeva, whose biography is described below, had two older sisters - Galina and Angelica.

The active participation of parents in the political life of the country led to the fact that the family often experienced nightly searches, changed their place of residence. She especially remembered Valya's dacha on Barabashina Glade near Samara. Forever in my memory, the girl had a mighty river Volga, her gorgeous steep banks, horns of steamships and barges, vanity on the pier. While the adults were busy with their own affairs, little Valya ran to the river. She closely communicated with port loaders, fishermen, merchants, was friends with the local barefoot guys.

The girl sharply reacted to injustice, experienced and sympathized with those with whom she communicated, saw the daily hard work of her friends. About the plight of the people knew not by hearsay of Valentine Oseeva. Biography of her childhood became the basis for the story "Dinka". Almost all the facts stated in the book are taken from the life of Valya herself, the heroes are also real; their prototypes are close girls: Dinka is Valya herself, her middle sister Lika (she was all affectionately called Mouse for her poor health and meek temper) was written from her middle sister Angelica, and strict Alina - elder sister Vali Galina.

Young years Oseeva

Valya received her primary education in the Kiev gymnasium, but then the family moved once again, and the heroine of our article finished school in Zhytomyr. Even in her school years, she was carried away by theater and very much wanted to become an actress. After receiving the certificate, entered the drama department of the Kiev Institute. Lysenko, but the family moved again - this time first to Moscow, and then to Solnechnogorsk. Therefore, I was forced to quit the acting institute and part with the dream of Valentin Oseev. Her biography took a new path.

"My calling is a teacher"

In 1923, Ariadna Leonidovna, on the instructions of the party, was determined to work in the commune commune. Clara Zetkin, who was in Solnechnogorsk. In the commune, homeless girls were brought up, whose parents were killed during the revolution or civil war. Valya, who was 21, once went to work at her mother's. Having seen the pupils, having communicated with them, having recollected the half-starved friends of the childhood, the girl has understood, that its calling - to bring up and teach children. So she became a teacher of Valentine Oseeva. The stories, tales and novels she wrote later were intended to teach children good and honesty, to show them the truth of life, to spark in their hearts a spark of justice.

The beginning of the creative path

Oseeva worked for sixteen years in the children's commune. It was here that her creative talent was revealed. She wrote short stories and fairy tales, plays for children, which they later put on stage at the school theater with the pupils. The children persuaded her to take the story "Grishka" to the editorial office, which was published in 1937, later, in 1940, they published a collection of Oseeva, called "The Red Cat."

At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the novice writer along with her family and son was evacuated to Bashkiria, where she got a job in a kindergarten. Having learned the Bashkir language, she translated into Russian children's tales. And, of course, Valentina Oseeva continued to write. Stories, fairy tales and her story today are read with pleasure not only by children, but also by adults.
