Three-phase meter: description and purpose

As is known, the three-phase electricity meter is a technical product that is designed to account for energy consumption, both active and reactive, as well as power in electrical networks. This unit can be connected to three- and four-wire AC lines operating at a frequency of 50 Hz. Additional measuring transformers can be used for connection.

Due to this, the three-phase meter has the ability to take into account the losses and tariffs for the daily zones, accumulate information about the consumption of electricity and transmit the measurements via digital interface channels.

Each three-phase meter is an analog-to-digital device that generates a summation of the energy consumed and outputs information immediately in kilowatt-hours to an indicator installed on the reading device.

The three-phase meter can be used both independently and together with other information-measuring devices intended for technical and commercial accounting.

The field of application of meters is quite extensive: they are used in industrial enterprises (industrial or commercial), in various public buildings and structures, houses, mobile structures, garages, cottages, etc.

The three-phase meter is manufactured in accordance with the regulatory documentation, which includes various technical and safety requirements. Each device must have an appropriate certificate.

The three-phase meter has the following features:

1. Ability to switch tariffs.
2. Resistance to various mechanical influences, as well as environmental conditions.
3. Protection from the self-propelled gun.
4. Protection from external fields, for example electromagnetic.
5. Resistance to voltage failures, as well as power outages.
6. The three-phase meter must have a telemetry output and a status indicator light. In addition, there should be a voltage sensor in the electrical network, as well as loads in the consumer.

Each three-phase meter has the following technical characteristics:

1. The service life is about 30 years.
2. Required accuracy class for active and reactive energy.
3. Rated voltage and current.
4. Required level of sensitivity to change in the amount of electricity.
5. The number of tariffs and tariff seasons.
6. Total and active power consumption of the meter circuits.
7. Mass-dimensional indicators.
8. Verification interval.

The three-phase meter is made in a plastic housing, which has a sufficient degree of protection against penetration of dust and moisture. Inside are integrated microcircuits, current measuring transformers, a reading device and a terminal of clamps. In turn, the clamps, the telemetric output, and the control circuit are sealed and closed with a plastic cover.

The three-phase meter has the following functions: measurement, storage, indication and accounting of electricity consumption separately for each tariff, as well as the total value of these values for different time periods: from day to year and the entire service life.
