The size of the microwave. What is a solo oven, and how to place a microwave in a small kitchen

Good household appliances are never superfluous, the stumbling block is often its size. Many of us thought about this when, when buying the next thing, they lost in the mind, where and how to place it. And this applies not only to televisions, electric fireplaces or refrigerators - even such, at first glance, compact thing like a microwave oven can become a big problem for a small kitchen in one-bedroom apartments.

The size of the microwave, of course, immediately taken into consideration when buying. And large microwave ovens, which are plenty on the market, can discourage potential buyers from acquiring them. There can be only one way out - to look for small-sized microwaves, which will be discussed in this article. Such devices have a number of advantages and disadvantages. And we will tell about them further.

The size of the microwave depends not only on the size of the body itself, but also on the internal parts. So, the larger the volume of the chamber for dishes - the more the case. Therefore, if you have little space in the kitchen, and you dream of a small and compact microwave oven, do not think that you can put large containers of food in it. Microwaves of a small size are more suitable for heating or cooking in a medium-sized dish, but not in special large vessels.

Solo-furnace against microwave

In principle, all microwaves of a small size fall into two categories:

  1. Solo-oven. The main function of such a device is cooking / heating food with microwaves. Unlike microwave ovens, this function is the only one for which such microwave ovens have been given such a name. The volume of solo-furnaces is much smaller than the volume of other microwaves, even among small devices and, on average, is equal to eight and a half liters.
  2. Microwave. A full and multifunctional device. Not only microwaves, but also a grill - at your disposal. Such stoves can quite replace an oven, therefore housewives from them are crazy. The problem is only in size - usually they are twice as large as solo furnaces.

Purpose of the acquisition of a microwave oven and its dimensions

The size of the microwave depends primarily on the functionality. If the device you need to warm up food, and no complicated culinary processes you will still do it on it - pay attention to simple solo-ovens. So you will save both money and a precious place in the kitchen.

On the other hand, if you expect a "miracle" from the microwave and a panacea for all the affairs in the kitchen, and yet you will not find a place for such a device - we disappoint you.

Solo furnace advantages

A solo-stove can quite "feed" a family of four. At the same time, such devices have quite a good power - up to 900 W, - which allows you to cope with the heating up of food quickly and without extra efforts. Solo-oven is a salvation for young parents: the device perfectly copes with baby food, which must necessarily have the right temperature, so that the child does not catch a cold.

The exact dimensions of small microwave ovens

So, what about the size of the microwave oven more specifically? What are they like? Words in words, but in order to determine the size of the devices and whether it is worth filling them with an already tight kitchen, you need more clear data, even if it's about the smallest microwave.

The dimensions of most devices on average are 50 centimeters in width and length, and about 40 centimeters in depth. Less than all devices with parameters of 30 centimeters - they are the most compact and light. The volume of the inner chamber for microwave ovens of this type rarely reaches more than 16 liters, the diameter of the turning saucer is equal to 24 centimeters. In principle, such a device can fit even in a kitchen cupboard, not to mention a small area reserved for a microwave on a table or on a refrigerator.

Built-in microwave ovens

Separate consideration deserves such a device as a built-in microwave oven. By the way, the sizes of such furnaces intended for placement in specially designated niches of kitchen panels can, by the way, be twice that of a conventional solo-furnace. In addition, this solution allows to resolve the problem of the device's functionality: a microwave oven of medium size can be placed in a niche, and this will not affect the space in the kitchen in any way.

Designers came up with an excellent solution, while solving two problems: convenience and beauty. So, the kitchen panels are perfect for small and tight spaces - in them you can conveniently place all the necessary appliances, regardless of size, if they, however, correspond to the dimensions of the niches allocated for these devices. Not an exception - and built-in microwave oven.

The sizes of such devices are usually from 45 to 60 centimeters in width, and the minimum depth is 30 cm. The largest models have a depth of 60 centimeters, which is twice the usual solo-furnace. The volume of the inner chamber, respectively, also increases - from 17 to 45 liters. The niche in this case, of course, saves small apartments and lovers of cooking in microwave ovens, which live in these apartments.

Microwave "Samsung"

Many companies today are engaged in the production of special embedded devices. Are not an exception and microwave "Samsung". The sizes of the most popular microwave oven on the market are 500x350x300. It perfectly combines all the positive qualities of the categories considered: four full-scale cooking programs and small dimensions, which can not but be liked by those who have a small kitchen.
