The Habensky Foundation: The main thing is to be on time

Since 2008, Russia has a charitable organization that helps children with oncological brain diseases. The founder, the ideological inspirer of the organization - Konstantin Yuryevich Khabensky. The relief fund was named after him - the Charity Fund of Konstantin Khabensky.

Directions of the Fund

Statistics - an inexorable thing: in Russia, about 850 children face the diagnosis of "brain cancer" every year, which is about 96% of all oncology of the CNS (central nervous system). This indicator is second after leukemia in frequency. It is not enough to diagnose the disease and to operate, it needs a rehabilitation period, it takes more than one year, and therefore the number of children in need of help and support is growing. Knowing these problems from the inside, the fund of Khabensky defined the mission of the organization: "In time to be close and help!"

For 8 years, the organization has been helping children with brain diseases and other pathologies. The main task is targeted assistance to a specific child taken care of by a public organization. The help includes diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation period.

Fund programs

The Habensky Foundation has developed four main assistance programs:

• Enlightenment - "To know and not to be afraid";
• Charity - "Targeted assistance";
• Professionalism - "Assistance to medical institutions of the Russian Federation";
• Rehabilitation - "Therapy of Happiness".

Each direction has its own priorities in the development and expansion of activities. Funds arriving in an organization without an address assignment are sent to the next task. Donations received in the name of the child are spent on treatment or rehabilitation.

Objectives of the Fund's programs

• "Know and not be afraid." The objectives of the program are the development of early diagnosis of diseases, improving the quality of treatment activities, education activities among the population, aimed at reducing fear of sickness and disease. All funds received for the program "Know and not be afraid" are directed to the development of doctors' skills, the organization of educational programs for doctors, the preparation and production of information materials on severe brain diseases, the need for examinations, and methods for treating diseases. Also within the framework of this program, information assistance is provided to families with sick children.
• "Targeted assistance." On the official website of the fund in the tab "Address help", everyone can make a contribution to the treatment of the child. In the same place, you can see how much money was spent on medical or rehabilitation measures. The charity fund of Khabensky welcomes even the smallest help, because of small cases great victories are growing. It is possible not only to sympathize, but to contribute to the recovery, and often the salvation of children's life. This simple action is available to everyone. • "Assistance to medical institutions of the Russian Federation". This branch of the fund Habensky dedicated to solving social problems. As part of the program, medical equipment is purchased to diagnose brain diseases in children and is delivered to medical centers throughout Russia. Also, donations for this program are sent to purchase drugs and supplies needed in the diagnostic process.
• "Therapy of Happiness". This is the most joyful of programs, but no less significant in therapeutic effect. The main task is the moral support of children being treated and helping parents overcome a difficult period. The program organizes field concerts by volunteer forces, creates playgrounds for children in children's oncology departments, attracts artists for concert activities as part of the "Stars against Cancer" project.

What is done

For seven years of existence, the charitable foundation of Khabensky saved 450 children. By the beginning of March 2016, more than 20,280,600 rubles were raised for the fund's work, which means still saved children's lives and happiness for several families. The Foundation on an ongoing basis cooperates with many organizations and, as K. Khabensky noted, rarely someone refuses to participate.
