The drug "Subsimplex" for newborns

The "Subsymplex" preparation for newborns is released in the form of a suspension for oral (oral administration). The active ingredient is simethicone. Additional substances: sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, monohydrate of citric acid, flavor, purified water, methylhydroxypropylcellulose and others.

The active substance of the drug is a stable surface-active polymethylsiloxane. Simethicone reduces surface tension and causes destruction in gas bubbles that form in the intestinal mucus and stomach contents.

The active component physically removes the foam, does not enter into a chemical reaction. Simethicone is not absorbed when taken orally. The component is unchanged from the body.

The drug "Subsymplex" for newborns is prescribed as a symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, which are associated with increased gas production (flatulence). The medication is used as an auxiliary in the process of performing the diagnosis of organs in the abdominal cavity (ultrasound, radiography), as well as in preparation for gastroduodenoscopy. In addition, this medication is prescribed to reduce the increased gas production after surgery and is used to eliminate the effects of poisoning with detergents.

For children on artificial feeding 0.6 milliliters (fifteen drops) are added at each feeding into a bottle. The drug "Subsymplex" for newborns is well mixed with milk and other liquids.

Children with breastfeeding should be given a small spoon every time before feeding.

To a child under the age of six years, a medication is prescribed after or during a meal for fifteen drops. If necessary, and before going to bed at the indicated dosage.

Children older than six years, this drug is prescribed for twenty or thirty drops. For adults, the dosage ranges from thirty to forty-five drops.

Before taking the drug, the bottle should be shaken thoroughly. The container should be turned upside down and taped lightly on the bottom. Thus, the suspension will begin to flow out of the dropper.

The duration of therapy depends on the severity of the symptoms. If necessary, the medication is allowed to be taken for a long period.

Before the X-ray study, it is recommended to take three to six teaspoons (fifteen to thirty milliliters) of the drug "Subsimplex" on the eve of the examination in the evening.

Before ultrasound, the drug is prescribed in the amount of three teaspoons in the evening before the diagnosis. Three hours before the study, they recommend taking the same dose.

Before endoscopy, one spoon is enough. During the study, several milliliters of medication can be injected through the endoscope. Thus, the gas bubbles are removed.

When poisoning with detergents, the dosage is selected in accordance with the severity of intoxication. The minimum recommended dose in such situations is five milliliters (a teaspoonful).

In the absence of effect or the appearance of new complaints related to GI disorder, it is recommended to suspend the use of the drug "Sabsimplex" for newborns and conduct a thorough clinical examination.

Suspension is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

According to experts, no adverse reactions have been registered in medical practice. However, the occurrence of hyperemia, skin rash, itching is likely.

With the use of the medicament "Sabsimplex" reviews are mostly positive. Suspension is allowed for use by patients with diabetes, since carbohydrates are not included in the composition of the drug.
