History

The Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was established in the early 20th century, or rather, the first premises could be considered the 1919 exhibition in Moscow.

In 1919 the first exhibition of the military direction devoted to the Red Army was held in the Soviet Union. The exhibition was attended by V. Lenin, who later gave instructions that it was necessary to create a museum-exhibition dedicated to the life and development of the army, which the whole country should be proud of.

In 1921, the exhibition museum was transformed into a museum, which was on Vozdvizhenka, 6 until 1928. The most outstanding event of that period is the exhibition dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the existence of the Red Army, which was visited by more than 100 thousand people who came in groups or singly.

In 1924, the museum was named Central, since 1951 it became known as a museum of the Soviet Army, then in 1965 the army began to be called the Armed Forces, as a result of which the name, which existed before the collapse of the USSR, was again replaced. Already in 1993, a new name was formed - the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In 1965, a new building was specially built for him, where he is located to this day.

Then there are the halls, telling about the army and troops during the Civil War, during the Great Patriotic War. Then come the halls about the post-war period, when the situation in the country was very difficult, but the weapons had to be always, and finally, the halls about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The open-air exposition is a technique and weapons that was once used in the Russian troops, some of them are outdated technically, some have become worthless, and you can see all this with your own eyes. There are:
