Synthetic oil. Main advantages

Synthetic oil has significant differences from mineral oil. The latter is produced from oil and is one of the products of its distillation, as well as, for example, fuel oil, tar, kerosene, solarium, bitumen, gasoline. Synthetic oil is synthesized from ethylene. This compound is produced from crude oil or from natural gas. It should be noted that this process requires a lot of time and energy costs. That's why synthetic oil is much more expensive than mineral oil. In the first, the composition is more precise, which determines the properties better than the second.

Synthetic oil 5w40, for example, has high thermal and chemical stability. The latter is understood as the practical absence of any transformations of the material (oxidation, for example) during the operation of the motor. Thermal stability is the conservation of viscosity at a certain level over a wide temperature range. This indicator ensures safe starting of the motor in frost. In addition, the thermal stability of the oil provides the highest possible engine protection in high-temperature areas under increased loads and at high speeds.

Synthetic oil (pw) has a special molecular composition, due to which higher penetrating power and fluidity are provided. It should be noted that oiling the engine in this case takes no more than forty to fifty seconds. When using mineral materials, this process can take several tens of minutes at low temperatures.

Synthetic oil has an increased viscosity index, which eliminates the dependence on temperature fluctuations. This makes it possible to dispense with additives. They are needed only to prevent the transformation of oil into water, without improving the lubricating properties, being, by and large, ballast.

Synthetic oils have good flowability at different temperatures. When used, less internal resistance to rotation in the motor is provided, which in turn increases power and reduces fuel consumption.

Synthetic oil has a better penetrating power. As a result, wear of parts is reduced, fuel economy is increased, especially with short runs and frequent cold start.

Synthetic oils provide a more durable film on the surfaces of parts subjected to friction. These materials also have high detergent and dispersant properties. Oil channels and the engine itself remain clean from the inside. On the inner surfaces there are no deposits, which are characteristic for mineral mixtures. Various precipitates, which are formed when the engine is running, dissolve in oil. This prevents the appearance of relatively large particles of dirt, which accelerate the wear of the motor.

An important advantage of synthetic oils is considered to be high resistance to aging. Accordingly, the replacement period is extended.
