Superhero of Reed Richards. "Fantastic Four"

For the first time, a team of superheroes led by Reed Richards appeared in comics in 1961. After a terrible accident in outer space, he comes up with a pseudonym for Mr. Fantastic and, together with the Invisible Lady, the Man-Torch and the Being, becomes a member of the "Fantastic Four". In addition, Reed Richards is passionate about science and is rightly considered one of the smartest inhabitants of the planet.

early years

Reed was born in the family of the outstanding physicist Nathaniel Richards, whose genes and upbringing aroused the boy's interest in science. His mother, Evelyn, left this world when her son was only 7 years old. Since then, the main task of the father has been the proper education of a boy who, at an early age, demonstrated incredible talent and mastered any scientific discipline with unthinkable speed. This led to the fact that at the age of 14 Reed Richards had already graduated from school and enrolled at once in several universities, in which he defended his doctoral dissertations in various areas. Even then, his great passion was the question of space exploration. He dreamed of building his own research ship and embarking on a journey beyond the atmosphere of the Earth.

Scientific career

In his student years, Reed met with another brilliant mind, Victor Von Doom, and between them, almost immediately a mutual dislike arose. At the same time, he met his best friend Ben Grima, who later was to learn the profession of a pilot and an astronaut. The comrades promised each other that in the future they will necessarily go into space and Ben will be the main pilot in this flight. In subsequent years, Richards led the project to build a spacecraft, which was supposed to be a scientific breakthrough. However, the constant problems with financing led to the fact that the expedition to space was decided to be canceled.

Prohibited flight

Termination of funding does not stop a scientist who is committed to his ideas and wishes, who plans to conduct an illegal flight. However, for the fulfillment of it, the support of friends is always necessary. Soon Reed Richards, whose team consists of his girlfriend Susan Storm, her brother Johnny and, of course, the pilot of Ben Grim, goes on a trip to the solar system. But it does not last very long, because as a result of cosmic radiation, radiation enters the ship, changing the lives of crew members forever.

"Fantastic Four"

The whole team managed to avoid death by a lucky coincidence, but the effects of irradiation instantly made themselves felt. The body of Reed has changed, it has become elastic and stretchable. Susan got the ability to become invisible, and Johnny Storm's body was flamed with fire, which does not harm him and allows him to fly. Most of all externally suffered Ben, who was completely covered with powerful stones and became absolutely not punched. Reid felt a strong sense of guilt for what had happened, but he came up with a way that would help his friends feel better and more confident. He created special costumes and came up with code names. So the light came a team of superheroes, which included Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Lady, the Human Torch and the Being. Thus began their adventures.

Super abilities

Reed Richards and his colleagues directed all their energies to maximally develop their abilities. The genius began to study the possibilities of his new body and in experience he was convinced that he can take any form by stretching, squeezing or increasing. In addition, his limbs can also be transformed and deal powerful blows at enemies. Length, which can stretch his body, reaches a kilometer. He learned to change his own density in the hardest, or on the contrary, liquid state. The big plus is that most poisons and toxins do not work on Reed due to the special structure of the internal organs. In addition to the superpowers he acquired as a result of the incident, he still has a unique intellect. In moments free from the fight against evil, Reid continues to invent new devices, conduct scientific experiments and create high-tech weapons. His special talents became the reason for joining another team, called the Illuminati, which includes other outstanding superheroes.

The Universe Ultimate

Under the laws of the Multiverse, there are parallel worlds in which Reed otherwise received his nickname, Mr. Fantastic. Marvel Comics in 2004 launches a new series of comics Ultimate Fantastic Four, the actions of which unfold not in the main universe, but in a modern, called "Earth-1610". There Reed met Ben when he was a child, and together they confronted classmates who mocked Richards because of his inadequacy to common standards. Relations with his father, who is called Harry, did not develop, and he left his parents' home early to do research. Later he meets a talented scientist named Victor Von Doom and works with him on his invention. As a result of incorrect calculations, the trial, in which Sue, Johnny and Ben again participated, ends in failure, and the characters get their abilities. This version is less popular, but it has every right to exist.

Adaptations

Over the years, the "Fantastic Four" team has appeared on the screen more than once. For the first time the comic was adapted in the form of the animated film of the same name in 1976. In subsequent years, Reed Richards repeatedly appeared in other cartoons, including "Spiderman", "Superheroes", "The Incredible Hulk" and many others.

In 1994, a feature-length film was released, in which Mr. Fantastic played Alex Hyde-White.

However, most of the audience learned about this team thanks to the 2005 film, in which the main role went to Joan Griffith. The story was based on a classic story about superheroes, and the main villain was Doctor Doom. This was one of the first films about these superheroes, which brought him great success. The collections of the picture tripled its budget, so it was decided to withdraw the sequel. The next part, in which the characters collided with the Silver Surfer, came out after 2 years, but it did not show such a brilliant result. The continuation was decided not to be removed, and for many years there was no information about the future of the superhero family.

Nowadays

Nevertheless, about three years ago, the restart of films about the "Fantastic Four" was announced, and the rights to the screen version of which remained with the studio "Twentieth Century Fox". Immediately announced the performers of the main roles. It was decided to create a team of young actors, and make the story itself more gloomy. The plot was taken not at all by the version to which all are accustomed. After long filming in August 2015, the updated version was released. Unfortunately, it was negatively perceived by both ordinary people and devoted fans. So the continuation is hardly worth counting.

With comics, the situation is also in a deplorable state. In 2014, it was announced that the publishing house decided to stop releasing this series, since it sold very poorly. However, fans will continue to please the appearance of their favorite heroes in comics about other characters in the universe of Marvel. Over the long years of the Fantastic Four, the members of the team have changed many times, but everyone will remember its classical composition forever, and in particular Reed Richards is a superhero, whom everyone knows as a true leader and recognized genius.
