Solntseva Julia: biography and photos

Julia Ippolitovna Solntseva - People's Artist of the USSR. For acting she received many awards and awards. The woman went a long and thorny path from a simple actress to a director. Her life can not be called simple. Since the childhood she had to overcome many difficulties, and in the declining years Julia Ippolitovna remained alone, despite the popular recognition and love.

A family

Julia Solntseva, whose photo is in this article, was born on August 7, 1901 in Moscow. Her mother - Valentina Timokhina, worked as a senior cashier in the store "Mur and Merliz", which is now called TSUM. Julia's father - Ippolit Peresvetov, did not live with his family. He came rarely, and even then such visits ended with parental "clarification of relations." In 1905, a tragedy occurred in the life of Julia. First, right at work (at a sugar factory) her father died. Then there was no mother. Five-year-old Julia and her brother remained in the care of grandfather and grandmother.

Childhood

Since as a child Yulia and her brother were practically left to their own devices, they found a hobby - books. After the death of their parents, their grandfather quickly got a job transfer to St. Petersburg, where he took his wife and grandchildren away. But money was not enough, and Julia began to work with her grandmother to somehow live. They sewed women's clothes, which they then sold. All her free time, Julia read a lot.

Education

Money obtained by Julia and grandmother for sewing went not only for food, but for studying in the gymnasium. In it, the girl also fell in love with the theater, playing in the performances of an amateur studio. Solntseva Julia was so absorbed in literature that it prompted her to enter the Philosophy Department after graduating from the gymnasium at Moscow University. But soon she was transferred to the philharmonic society (later renamed the Institute of Music Drama). She graduated in 1922.

First fee

Her first real role played Julia, while still studying in the gymnasium. She was noticed by one film director and offered to perform the role of maid. True, he paid a fee, which was enough only for a loaf of bread. This was the first money that Yulia earned in the theater.

Creative way

After the end of the Moscow Philharmonic, Julia received an invitation (which she accepted) to the troupe of the Chamber Theater. She needed a pseudonym, and the girl chose the name of Solntseva. But she did not work on stage, being in the cinema.

Silent movie: wide popularity

Julia Solntseva, whose films are known to many, made her debut in the cinema, starring in the film "Aelita". She was invited to test for the role of maid. It was her finest hour. Elena Gogoleva was appointed to the main role. But director Yakov Protazanov, having looked at the samples, immediately drew attention to the extraordinary beauty of Julia Solntseva: a charming smile, huge black eyes and a figure of the goddess attracted her eyes. And Yakov Protazanov offered Julia instead of the servant the role of Aelita.

After the release of the film, the audience was delighted with it. Tickets queued up for ticket offices. Solntseva Julia so captivated the viewer that the film immediately entered the classics of not only Soviet, but also world cinema. Only now it was with the audience's delight does not agree. The girl believed that the role she failed, and the game was unconvincing. Therefore, I tried to avoid talking about this topic.

Its second role was no less remarkable. Julia played in the movie "The cigarette maker from Mosselprom." This role, where she played a girl selling cigarettes, but dreaming of becoming a movie star, Julia was very fond of. And it is not surprising, since the script was written just for her and the image was very close to her.

Further, her glory rushed like an avalanche. Solntseva Julia was shot in many films: "Leon Couturier", "Jimmy Higgins" and many others. She received a lot of proposals from foreign filmmakers. But Julia flatly refused to act in such films.

Directing

A new turn in her fate and career took place when she fell in love with the director A. P. Dovzhenko, who later became her husband. They started working together. First Julia Ippolitovna was an assistant director. She worked for Mosfilm, VUFKU, at the Kiev Film Studio. Then she became a co-director. She took part in the creation of motion pictures "Michurin" and "Shchors" and a number of documentaries.

In the early fifties, Julia Solntseva began to create her own films. One of her first works - a television performance "Egor Bulychov and others." The main founder, inspirer and critic was Dovzhenko (at that time being already her husband). Julia Ippolitovna fully shared his worldview.

Personal life

The first marriage of Julia Solntseva was unsuccessful. Lydia Ginzburg, who later became a famous literary critic, described her husband as a man gloomy and far from art. He even tried to forbid her to act in films. In Yulia, many fell in love, wrote poems, courted. And why she chose her husband as a specialist in the auto deal, turned out to be a mystery to many.

For a couple of years she left the cinema. But the version that Julia Ippolitovna Solntseva was in prison nowhere in the sources does not appear and is not officially confirmed. Most likely, it was at the insistence of her first husband that she temporarily stopped filming. But again appeared on the screens in 1926. In an interview she confessed that she had fled from her husband to Odessa.

This year and the city became a turning point in her personal life. It was in Odessa that Julia Ippolitovna became acquainted with Dovzhenko. She noticed his girlfriend on the set. Then Dovzhenko met her from a familiar married couple, where she drank tea. He invited me to take a walk and from that time on they began to meet more often. After the painting "Arsenal" was finished, they left for Kharkov. But already as a husband and wife. Julia Ippolitovna did not change her surname.

But it was with great enthusiasm that I entered the role of my beloved wife. She was pleased with their village house, cottage in Peredelkino and a Moscow apartment, ennobling them and creating coziness. With an acting career, she said goodbye forever after the movie "Earth".

The Beat of Destiny

Strong blow of fate shook Julia Ippolitovna to the depths of her soul in 1956. In this year her husband died - Dovzhenko Alexander Petrovich. No signs of trouble. He worked in his own studio, at home, preparing for new shootings. I was going to go to the city, but suddenly he felt bad. When the participants arrived, Alexander Petrovich was no longer alive.

Solntseva was shocked by his sudden death. But the terrible grief could not break the woman. After the death of her beloved husband, she devoted thirty-three years to his memory - Julia decided to put those films that he did not have time to realize during his lifetime. In addition, she published a collection of works by Dovzhenko, which was published in the 1970s. Solntseva Julia died on October 28, 1989. In her last interview, she admitted that besides Dovzhenko, she had no one else in the world. And she often cried in the morning from oppressive loneliness.

Awards and titles of the Sun

Solntseva Yu. I. was a laureate of the Stalin Prize of the second degree and the International Film Festival in Cannes, as well as the holder of Honorary Diplomas at the All-Union Film Festival and the London International Film Festival. She was a laureate of a special event of a similar event, given in Spain, in San Sebastian. She was awarded several orders and gold medals. The unfortunate moment of her biography was the erroneous rumors about her conviction. But, according to official sources, there are rarely more decent people than Julia Ippolitovna Solntseva. The conviction did not take place in her life. All this woman gave herself to creativity and loved one.
