Smear from a man: what is it?
What is a smear in men? If you answer the question briefly, then this procedure can be called an analysis. Doctors call a urogenital smear in men detachable from the urethra, which they research, usually to diagnose an inflammatory process. For example, with urethritis of different etiology (gonorrhea, bacterial urethritis, chlamydia, trichomoniasis).

How is a smear taken from men and is it painful?

In some cases, before taking a material for the smear, the doctor may advise a special massage of the prostate gland. It is carried out directly through the rectum. Sometimes it is recommended to massage the urethra, which is done with a probe.
Before you go to the procedure, you need:
1. To refuse from sexual contacts at least two days before the survey.
2. It should be done in the evening hygiene of the genitals, and in the morning before the examination you do not need to wash.
3. It is recommended not to urinate for two to three hours before visiting a doctor.
About a week before the planned survey stop using any medications.
