Sims 4: additional materials and other content

The simulator of life "Sims" pleases us already for fifteen years, six of which fell on the most popular and diverse part - "Sims 3". But the world is changing, computer games are improving, and the Sims are no exception. In September 2014, the world was presented to the fourth part of one of the most famous games. We suggest you get acquainted with what it is, and also what additional materials exist for Sims 4 and how to install them.

About "Sims 4"

As before, the player controls the life of the character, creates his history and a family tree. Only now you can create a hero with even more subtle details. In the new game, you can even choose the character's growth! Also added more opportunities to interact with the virtual world, the hero has better expressed emotions and much more, which makes the game process even more interesting.

Of course, such a variety of add-ons (additions), like the "Sims 3" (there were twenty of them in total), "Sims 4" yet. Fans of the game for today can be content with only a few directories:

• "To work";
• "In the campaign";
• "Luxurious party";
• "Patio".

But it is possible to install additional materials in "Sims 4". They can be found in the published updates and on other user resources.

"Sims 4": updates

In the period from September 2, 2014 to April 13, 2015 for "Sims 4" was released 16 official updates. The latest version is 1.5.149.1020 (for PC).

The main function of updates is the correction of errors and failures, as well as adding some new items to the game.

Here is a short list of what the developers have already managed to fix:

1. Construction mode:

• Fences are no longer considered rooms;
• When the height of the foundation is changed, objects do not move into the luggage of the family;
• Pools have become available, and they can be built both on the street and on any floor of the house.

2. Characters:

• Some items to which the admission was closed upon restarting the game is again available;
• The number of abductions by aliens is reduced;
• Characters no longer move through the air;
• The process of interaction between the characters;
• Characters no longer disappear;
• Fixed bugs related to babies.

3. Other points:

• "Write a book" action no longer causes a game error;
• The game became more believable;
• Improved performance;
• Saving from past updates are restarted in new ones;
• Added a family tree that displays a story about 10 generations.

"Sims 4": additional materials from updates

In 16 updates of this game, developers have pleased the players not only by fixing bugs, but also by adding new items and characters. For example, the following was added:

• Small sculptures of the gnomes of the "Mysterious", "Chilling Soul", "Serious Business", "Mr. Floppy", "Foundations of Nu".
• Ghosts (more functional than in "Sims 3");
• New suits in the style of "Star Wars", "Valentine's Day", others;
• New shades for eye color;
• Suits for swimming are available: swimsuits and swimming trunks;
• New career opportunities are available: athlete, businessman,
• There are new types of achievements for adult characters, ghosts, teenagers;
• New sets are offered, for example, packages with seeds of fruits and plants, "In a hike" and so on.

In addition to the things from the updates, additional "Sims 4" players are also available from other sources. For example, on the sites of the fans of the simulator you can find many unique houses, outfits, decor, hairstyles, as well as the characters themselves.

Installation of additional materials

As for "Sims 3", the sites, scenery, clothes for "Sims 4" are most often created in the format Package. Additional materials of such an extension are established as follows:

• If the downloaded add-ons are in the archive, then open it;
• Open the folder / Mods (default path / EA / The Sims 4 / Mods);
• Move the extracted additional materials to an open folder.
