Shcherbinskoye cemetery: features and mode of operation

In the capital, there are more than twelve million inhabitants. This fact causes a huge need in the burial places of the deceased - cemeteries. In the capital there are quite a few, and some of them are unique sights.

One of the cemeteries in the southern part of the Moscow region is called Shcherbinsky. This is due to the fact that next to it is the town of Shcherbinka. The state unitary enterprise "Ritual" is in charge of this cemetery, which is responsible for the main funerary complexes of the capital. This article is devoted to this cemetery, its features and mode of operation.

The Shcherbinskoye cemetery is located in the Podolsky district of the south of the Moscow region in an area of about 90 hectares. Thus, it is one of the largest cemeteries in the capital, although it is not a record holder in this sense. For burials, the Shcherbinskoye cemetery was opened in 1982, and so far a plot can be purchased on its territory.

Structurally the cemetery complex near Shcherbinka is divided into two parts: southern and central. Actually, the Central Shcherbinskoye cemetery is the main one, opened in the early eighties in the Soviet Union. But the Southern cemetery, which is now also part of the Shcherbinskoye funeral complex, is the fruit of its expansion in 1997. It provides the complex with an additional 30 hectares of land. Together, these two parts are segmented into nearly a hundred sites intended for burial.

In addition to the graves, the Shcherbinskoye cemetery has an Orthodox church on its territory. To be more precise, it is a chapel in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, which belongs to the jurisdiction of the clergy of Zakharya Church.

Moscow in this respect is a rather contradictory city, in which far beyond all objects there is an impeccable departure. In this case, the funerary complex was lucky - it is very well arranged. At each corner of the complex are cranes, which allow free use of water. In total, there are 175 cranes in the Shcherbinsk cemetery. In addition, the complex is equipped with several dozen points intended for garbage collection.

As for the options for burial, there are several. In one case, the deceased is put in a coffin, in another - his ashes are placed in an urn. At the same time, a choice is given - burial of an urn in the ground or placing it in a specialized niche of an open columbarium, which is also located on the territory of the Shcherbinsky cemetery. In addition, in new plots, it is possible to obtain land for family, that is, generic burials. On the southern part of the cemetery there is a plot of 1.2 hectares, intended for the burial of Koreans and Buddhist worshipers. Also on the territory of the cemetery there is a Kurdish plot.

In order for relatives to take care of the graves, remove them and bring them to the proper view, in the territory of the cemetery there is a point of renting all necessary equipment. Thus, the residents of Moscow do not need to carry it with them, which is difficult in the absence of a car.

Opening hours of the cemetery complex

Visit the Shcherbinskoye cemetery at its official opening hours. From early May until the end of September, the complex's mode is as follows: from 9 am to 7 pm. In the season from early October to the end of April, visits are limited from 9 am to 5 pm. Burial places in the cemetery are made daily, starting with the opening and until 17:00 hours daily, without days off.

Shcherbinskoye cemetery (Moscow): how to get there

To get to the Shcherbinsky cemetery by public transport, you can take a bus that departs from the metro station "Yuzhnaya". From October 1 to the end of March it runs from 08:30 to 16:00. From April 1 until the end of September, the bus schedule is extended for three hours in the evening, that is, until seven o'clock in the afternoon. And on weekends the work schedule also starts earlier - from 07:00 in the morning.

How to get to Shcherbinsky cemetery by private transport

To get to the cemetery in your own car, you need to go to Varshavskoye Shosse and, after passing MKAD, drive 7.5 kilometers to the appropriate signpost. After this, turn right and go straight. The total distance from MKAD to Shcherbinsky cemetery is approximately eleven kilometers.
