Sand sugar - an important component of a variety of dishes, drinks, bakery and confectionery. It is used for canning meat, dressing the skin and in the tobacco industry. In addition, this product is successfully used as the main preservative for jam, jelly and much more.

In the chemical industry, sugar sand allows you to obtain a huge number of derivatives that are used in a variety of areas. As an example, we can mention the production of plastics, pharmaceuticals and effervescent beverages.

What is this standard? In order to ensure that the quality of granulated sugar is constantly at a proper level, special criteria for the manufacture and storage of finished products have been developed, which were combined in GOST 21-94. According to him, the production of sugar should be carried out in compliance with not only technological instructions, but also sanitary norms.

Ideal sugar crystals should not exceed 2.5 mm. However, it should be taken into account that the GOST provides for some allowable deviations within ± 5%. The packaging is mostly mechanized. Packages of paper and polyethylene are used as packaging. The permissible deviations in weight should not exceed ± 2%.

Taste differences also exist in fodder molasses, which continues to be an important by-product of sugar production. In the event that it is created from cane, it can be eaten without problems, whereas beet molasses is absolutely not suitable for this.

If we consider the stems of the sorghum of bread, from which the syrup is successfully produced, the sugar obtained as a result of its processing passes through a minimum degree of purification, as a result of which it can not be equal to competition with a beet or reed product.

As for palm sugar, then for its production is used the juice of certain species of palm trees, containing about 16-20% sucrose.

If necessary, granulated sugar with a net weight of up to 1 ton can be packed in special containers intended for transportation and storage of bulk products, with special inserts from food film.

Marking

Packages with sugar must pass mandatory labeling using a special non-dirty ink. The information should be printed, so that the product name stands out well against the background of the rest of the data. In addition, the paint should not pass through the packaging, otherwise the sugar will acquire an unusual shade for it. If the paint particles are absorbed into the granulated sugar, it can acquire an unusual flavor.

Rules of long-term storage

Places where you will store sugar must meet sanitary standards. Before the product must enter the warehouse, where it will remain for a long time, it is necessary to carefully ventilate and dry the room. Please note that sugar can not be stored in the same place with other materials.

Particular attention should be given to the temperature regime. If there are asphalt or cement floors in the warehouse, sugar must be stacked on pallets.
