Rubber cuff is one of the most important elements of any mechanism

Rubber cuff, or gland, is a ring-shaped rubber product designed to connect parts of mechanisms. Rubber rings differ in their configuration and are mounted on parts and mechanisms of a cylindrical shape. They prevent the penetration of liquids, lubricants and gases in the low-pressure region from high regions. The design features, shapes and technical properties of cuffs are determined by the scope of their use.

Rubber reinforced cuffs

Reinforced oil seals are designed to seal a variety of shafts that work in mineral oils and greases based on such oils, as well as in water and diesel fuel, where the level of excess pressure does not exceed 0.05 MPa and the speed is 20 m / s at a temperature from - 45 degrees to +100 degrees.

Seals are of two types, one of which is a one-shoulder rubber cuff without anther, and the second - with anther. Cuffs without anther protect against leakage of sealing medium, and with anther - also protect from getting dust. The edges on the stuffing boxes are manufactured in two ways - by machining and by molding. All cuffs must be marked. The marking indicates the type of packing, where the index 1 will indicate that the product without anther, and 2 - with anther. Next, the gland packing method is indicated: index 1 means that the edge is obtained mechanically, and index 2 indicates that the lip is formed. The next figure is the diameter of the shaft, behind it goes the outside diameter of the gland itself and, finally, its height. All these quantities are denoted in millimeters. Rubber reinforced cuffs can be made from elastomer and its mixtures, butadiene-nitrile, silicone and other types of rubber or from polyurethane. Features of the production of these products depend on the scope of their application, for example, in the automotive, mechanical engineering, in the aircraft industry and other areas.

As has already been said, this or that rubber cuff is intended for use in a certain sphere, in connection with this, and the material for their manufacture is used differently. All types of rubber have individual characteristics and are divided into groups.

Rubber cuffs for sanitary purposes

At present, it is impossible to imagine any compound in plumbing without the use of various rubber products. The rubber cuff can be made of different materials: rubber, rubber, paronite or silicone. Cuffs provide a hermetic connection of the firing sections of sewer pipes of different diameters with any plumbing. In addition, they connect hoses and corrugated tubing of various diameters with sewer pipes.
