Puff cake with apples

A puff cake with apples ... Already from a single mention of this delicacy, drooling! Let's try to cook. This addition to tea will always be appropriate. It does not matter whether your child is in a hurry to school, whether you are dining in the family circle, or someone unexpectedly came to visit you.

Take as a basis a layered pie with apples (stuffing choose any, everything depends on the availability of fruits and your imagination). Let's start with the preparation of the dough (of course, you can buy it in the store, you'll need about 600 grams, but after all, the home is always much tastier). There are many options, here are the simplest and fastest.

Option 1. Ingredients:

  • Flour, the highest grade (500-600 gr.);
  • Butter (or margarine, 280-320 gr.);
  • Eggs (1 pc.);
  • Water (170 g);
  • Soda (0.5 ts.lozhki);
  • Lemon juice (1 teaspoon).

Before the beginning of all the works, we must sift the flour, only then the dough will acquire airiness. Cold oil (margarine) cut into small pieces (as small as possible) and put into flour. Mix with flour using a knife (chop up finely, to the formation of crumbs). We make a hole in the flour, pour water into it, add the egg and lemon juice. The juice can be replaced with vinegar, but the lemon will add its own unique, subtle flavor. We mix the dough and form the ball, then cover it with a napkin or towel and for two or three hours we put it in the refrigerator (it will be enough for 20 minutes in the freezer).

Option 2. Ingredients:

  • Flour, the highest grade (3 cups);
  • Butter (0,5 standard pack or 100 gr.);
  • Water (glass);
  • Baking powder;
  • sugar.

Sift the flour. Mix it with sugar and baking powder. Add the water and knead the dough. Evenly roll the dough on a flour-poured table to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Lubricate with softened oil. Roll the dough into a roll (many layers are formed) and send it to the freezer for 20-30 minutes. The same multilayer effect is obtained if the rolled and oiled dough is folded several times. It looks like this: the rolled sheet of dough is folded in half, then the resulting sheet is cut in half and so on. This is up to you. There should be many layers. Store this dough in the freezer for a long time, but before baking it you need to defrost. So do not forget to take the time to defrost.

Cold dough rolled (do it preferably in one direction - "from yourself") to get a rectangular shape. Roll the dough in half and take up the filling. We wash apples, cut out the core, free ourselves of the peel and cut into thin slices (some rubbing on a large grater, but then too much juice is allocated, and you risk getting a half-baked pie as a result). We spread the stuffing strip on the edge (you need to leave a free edge, which we then cover the filling) on both halves of the already prepared test. And then we turn on the fantasy again. You can simply sprinkle with sugar. You can add a little honey. You can even try to combine a few fillings and cook, for example, puff pastry with blueberries (or other berries) and apples. A wonderful aroma will give cinnamon in combination with a zest of orange and almonds. Fantasize - from this your puff cake with apples will only benefit!

Cover the filling with a free dough and patch the edges. As a result, we get two envelopes from the dough with stuffing in the middle. Lash the pan with margarine or butter and spread on it these envelopes. A very important point: the resulting envelopes from above need to be cut (across a few stripes), but very carefully, so as not to touch the bottom. Now once again sprinkle with sugar (mix it with cinnamon or vanilla) and send it to the oven for 20 minutes, at a temperature of 180 degrees.

A puff cake with apples turns out very ruddy and fragrant.

You can use as a filling not only apples, but also raspberries, blueberries, pumpkins, apricots, raisins, dried apricots - in short, everything that the soul tells. You can, for example, cook a puff cake with pumpkin - also very tasty.

Bon Appetit!
