Pathology is associated with a short life cycle of cells. In a physiologically healthy person, the epidermis is regularly updated (every 28 days). Psoriasis, the symptoms of which are very vivid, shortens the indicated period of up to 5 days. As a result, epithelial cells die very quickly, leaving behind the keratinized zones. Psoriasis affects about three percent of the world's population, that is, it is quite a common disease. Psoriasis of the scalp looks like a lot of papules that rise above the surface of the skin. Affected areas are covered with scales, which when combed easily fall away.

Psoriasis: Symptoms

The main signs of psoriasis are itchy, often symmetrical skin areas in the head, elbows, knees, groin and glute zones. The earliest symptom of the disease is small reddish rashes on the skin, which eventually increase and are covered with scales. Horny scales easily slushchayutsya, and in their place remain denser, localized in the deep layers of the skin. Psoriasis of nails is characterized by the formation of pinholes on the nail plate. Nail plates are thinned, destroyed, crumbled and hard to treat. To date, a large number of forms of the disease are known. Psoriasis can be classified according to the site of localization and the form of rashes, the severity of the course of the disease and its duration. Teenagers and children often develop a drop-shaped form of psoriasis (numerous rashes of small size, having a drop-shaped shape). It should be noted that within a few weeks or months, such rashes may spontaneously disappear. Approximately 5-7% of patients develop psoriatic arthritis. In dermatological clinics, about 10% of patients are people with a diagnosis of psoriasis. Symptoms of the disease can occur at any age, although statistics show that people in old age and babies almost do not suffer from psoriasis.

Recently there has been a trend towards an increase in the number of young patients with frequent complications that require inpatient treatment. Recurrent forms of psoriasis are very resistant to conventional therapeutic regimens. Psoriasis, the symptoms and relapses of which are usually manifested with dry skin, can also occur with a deficit of sunlight in the autumn-winter period. Pathology can be manifested by periods. The first symptoms can occur in patients between the ages of ten and thirty. Sometimes there is total psoriasis, covering the entire surface of the skin. This clinic requires an immediate appeal to specialists.
