Prospect Glory: will the new plans for the construction of tourists

Currently, construction and repair of roads, bridges and tunnels is actively conducted in St. Petersburg. Already, a huge number of objects are under development, and corresponding tenders are announced for an even greater number. Construction recently touched the prospect of Glory, located in one of the strategic districts of the city.

Coordination of activities related to construction, reconstruction and major repairs, as well as investment attraction, is carried out by the Construction Committee. The Committee is authorized to exercise regional state control over compliance with requirements within its competence.

Despite the positive trend and huge benefits for the city, definitely, the ongoing work adversely affects the convenience and comfort of travel of tourists coming to St. Petersburg from around the world. So, for example, for some time the prospectus of Glory was closed. I would like to mention this separately and consider this issue in more detail. This prospectus is one of the most important highways of St. Petersburg. The avenue passing through Frunzensky district of the city is intended for movement in the direction "west-east". The highway connects Nevsky district with Moscow.

Prospect Glory got its name on January 16, 1964 by the decision of the Leningrad City Council in honor of the civil and military victories of the Soviet people. The main thoroughfare that gave rise to Slava Prospekt was laid in 1960. At the same time the prospect began to be built up with public buildings and apartment buildings.

In connection with the work on the construction of elevated pedestrian crossings in April of this year, Slavy Prospekt was closed for traffic at night. This restriction lasted for several days. On April 6 and April 11 to April 14, traffic was blocked from the Belgrade to Budapest streets, and on April 7 and April 15 to April 18 the traffic was closed in the opposite direction. The second vivid example of how the construction of roads in the city hinders tourists are works carried out on the western high-speed diameter. Unfortunately, the accommodation of tourists in the seaside area will be significantly overshadowed by almost clock noise accompanying the construction site.

But the authorities of St. Petersburg still hope that the ongoing activities related to repair and construction, in no case will reduce the flow of tourists in 2013. Moreover, visitors of the city this season, in addition to sightseeing and walking along the famous streets, are still waiting for a number of bright and significant events.

So, visiting St. Petersburg this summer, for example, you can visit the annual holiday of graduates "Scarlet Sails", which has been held for several years or from June 2 to June 20 to visit the international music festival "Palaces of St. Petersburg".
