Project Corvette 20385 "Gremyaschy": characteristics and photos. Corvette "Agile"

The ship under the loud name "Gremyaschy" is the corvette of Project 20385, which was being prepared for laying in February 2012. In parallel, the development of the analogue "Agile" was conducted. The process began at the shipyard, located in St. Petersburg. The ceremonial ceremony was attended by high ranks of the Russian armed forces. This project is directly focused on the construction of military navigational aids, in the arsenal of which the most advanced weaponry of the attacking and defensive plan is provided.

Development and construction

The project 20385 corvette is an improved version of a similar development under the index 20380, with the introduction of fundamentally new technological and design solutions. The Northern shipyard in St. Petersburg has signed a contract to create four vessels of this category, two of which are already ready. In parallel, the work is carried out at the shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. New ships should become as reliable as possible in the shock plan, including the use of the latest air defense equipment.

The corvette of the project 20385 (Gremyaschy) of Almaz Design Bureau was developed. The predicted port of registration of ships after completion is the Northern Fleet. The project in question is much more advanced than its predecessor. This is especially true of tactical and technical parameters, weapons, combat capabilities and maneuvering. In theory, manufacturers plan to build ten similar corvettes for the Russian Navy. This will make it possible to significantly enhance the defense capacity in terms of protecting the maritime boundary. It should be noted that composite materials are used in the production of vessels, and the cost of their manufacture and delivery was at least half a million rubles.

Opportunities and uses

20385 - a new-generation corvette project designed for multi-purpose use. Its main task is the detection and destruction of surface enemy ships or submarines. Also, a combat ship serves for landing, guarding the coastal zone, escorting other ships.

In addition to artillery and missile weapons, there are radar and sonar systems on board. Extends the possibility of a combat ship installation of a hangar for a Ka-27 helicopter. This significantly increases the combat capability of the vessel, allowing timely detection of enemy targets. Additional protection from the detection of the corvette project 20385 - is the use of special technologies in the design, minimizing their radar detection. Reliability and maneuverability in any conditions are guaranteed by composite components from FSUE "Prometey", which proved their importance in previous similar developments.

There is a universal missile system "Caliber", machine guns, antiaircraft gun of the "Redut" type, acoustic and radar bases, anti-submarine weapons "Package" and reinforcement in the form of a Ka-27 helicopter.

Enclosure and superstructure

The corvette "Gremyashchy" is the main one in the newest project 20385. Its hull is predominantly made of steel and has a smooth deck. Structural innovative solutions have improved the resistance to oncoming water by 25 percent and reduce the load on the main electrical installation.

New design of the underwater part of the hull allows the use of a power plant with less weight, and this frees the displacement parameter by about 20 percent. In this regard, the combat equipment of the ship can be significantly strengthened. An additional advantageous factor is an increase in the speed of the stroke by two knots.

The superstructure of the swimming combat means is made of noncombustible composite components. They include fiberglass, polymers based on carbon fiber. This system makes it possible to achieve a small detection radius by location stations and systems. The stern is equipped with a special hangar and a platform for the placement and take-off of the Ka-27 helicopter. Its fuel reserve is about 20 tons. Corvette project 20380 and 20385 are strikingly different in equipment and weapons in favor of the latter option.

Power plant

Previously, the main power unit were to become German engines such as MTU. Subsequently, observing countermeasures on import substitution, it was decided to use domestic engines. The order was sent to specialists of JSC "Zvezda" and the Kolomna plant. As a result, the corvette of Project 20385 was equipped with a couple of DDA-1200 diesel units.

Each unit includes two motors and a reverse gear. They have an automatic control system and microprocessors. Characteristics of power plants are given below:

  • Working life - not less than 15 thousand machine hours.
  • The average indicator for the range of travel, taking into account the speed of 14 knots - 4,000 nautical miles.
  • The material of the piston base is heat-resistant steel of the EI-415 type.
  • The basis of power units is an alloy of aluminum AK-6.
  • The power indicator of each generator is 630 kW.
  • The current requirement is 50 Hz (380 watts).

These units can provide a high percentage of power with a minimum of fuel and oil consumption, while reducing the hydroacoustic visibility of the ship.

Ship radio engineering

Corvette project 20385 "Gremyaschy" has the following radio equipment:

  • System "Sigma" (BIU).
  • Automatic communication unit "Ruberoid".
  • Complex of guidance "Monument".
  • The station of general detection "Fourke-2".
  • Knot OGAS "Anapa-M".

These devices can reduce the probability of finding a vessel three times, operate in a mode from 64 to 2000 MHz. They are able to identify over two hundred alleged targets, as well as confront enemy missile systems, providing protection for the ship. This is facilitated by four launchers for neutralizing interference such as "Brave". Coordination actions for helicopter control are carried out using the special navigation tower OSP-20380.

Armament

The vessels under consideration are equipped with several types of weapons. Among them:

  1. A pair of combat anti-ship installations with four launch systems and 8 missiles. Containers for launching are located in the middle part of the hull (longitudinally by a site of diameter). The maximum target range is 260 km.
  2. Anti-aircraft weapons, which consists of a system of "Redut" with three modular installations, the mobile complex "Needle", thirty-millimeter cannons with six barrels (mounted aft).
  3. Complex "Rubezh".
  4. A pair of guns with a caliber of 330 millimeters against the torpedoes (the "Packet-H" system).
  5. 100 mm artillery installation A-190. Its rate of fire is about 80 starts per minute. Control the aiming and shooting itself allows the control system "Puma".
  6. The anti-submarine helicopter Ka-27.

Parameters of seaworthiness

The designers paid special attention to the survivability of the ship. The developers used the latest technology and composite materials. This made it possible to significantly reduce the radar visibility of the ship. The "Gremyashchy" corvette of the project of the Russian Corvettes 20385 is the first of its kind, the equipment of which uses polymer materials with high absorption of radio pulses and non-standard architectural design.

As a result, the detection and circular scattering factor decreased almost threefold (in comparison with analogues). Additional protection is provided by complexes aimed at blocking enemy attacks.

What modifications have been developed?

According to the initial plan, it was planned to develop and erect four main ships such as the corvette project 20385. "Gremyaschy", the photo of which was presented above, became the flagship and a single vessel, the construction of which continued in this direction. In addition, the following modifications were designed:

  1. Frontier guard corvette (20380P).
  2. The export variation is equipped with minimal armaments. It was supposed to replace the ammunition kit with foreign analogues.
  3. "Prompt". He purposely prepared for the Black Sea Fleet, had improved equipment and weapons.
  4. Upgraded version with the possibility of mounting the combat installation "Horizon".

The names of the ships are no less sonorous: "Retic" and "Stern".

Project Corp. 20385 "Agile"

This vessel is assigned the serial number 1006. It is the second building of the project under consideration. The laying of the series was also held at the Northern shipyard of the shipbuilding plant in St. Petersburg.

The event was attended by Admiral Vysotsky, fleet commanders of all levels, as well as other high-ranking officials, honorary guests. The development of this project began in the spring of 2013. From previous models, "Agile" is distinguished by its large displacement (2200 tons) and dimensions. The length of the ship is 105 meters, and the width and draft are 13 and 8 meters, respectively. Equipment in armament also differs from its predecessors, thanks to the ability to install Caliber-NK systems, the Redut and Packet complexes. The base is based on the deck of the Ka-27PL helicopter.

Features

A very important difference of the ship in question is the presence of an optron-type mast, which serves to control radar equipment and increases the ability to detect enemy targets, and also enhances the combat caravan, guaranteeing the tracking and identification of ships and aircraft. A significant role in this is played by the radar and the control unit of the Puma type.

Judging by the comment of the leading engineer of the Almaz Central Design Bureau, K. Golubeva, the development in terms of new marine shipbuilding is also carried out under the improved program under the index of 20386. The project is aimed at maximum provision of domestic armament, although the details of the construction remain secret.

According to Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Yuri Borisov, by 2020 it is planned to produce at least 16 corvettes of the class in question. The main production facilities are concentrated in the shipyard in St. Petersburg and the Amur Shipyard.

Experts think that the main hitch in the construction of such ships is the compatibility of the latest weapons in large quantities and the cost of the final version. Designers continue to work to bring this figure to the optimum level.

The result

Corvette Project 20385, the characteristics of which are listed above, has the most modern weapons and a multifunctional focus. Within the framework of this event, only one of the representatives ("Gremyaschy") is being built. The remaining vessels are being developed under the updated project. This is due to the rise in price of the ship, not always justified by the presence of heavy weapons of various kinds. Developers, despite the delay with the change of foreign power plants to domestic analogs, declare that all planned work is being carried out according to the planned schedule.
