Principle of operation

But the "twelve" appeared a little later, in the 98th and was already equipped with fully injected engines with distributed injection. Therefore, the design uses a submersible electric gasoline pump. At the VAZ-2112, the injector (16 and 8 valves) is in the tank. To be more precise, the element is located under the pillow of the rear row, on the right side. For its convenient maintenance a special hatch is provided. Why could not the element be placed according to the classical scheme? The fact is that the electric pump operates at a higher pressure and heats up quickly. Therefore, he needs a cooler. In order not to complicate the design of the new radiator, engineers decided to place the element in the tank. Thus, the gasoline itself is the pump cooler. In addition, in the tank all the noises that arise from his work are muffled.

Symptoms of a malfunction

It is worth noting that the gasoline pump, installed on the VAZ-2112 injector, has a high resource. But regular driving on an empty tank and untimely replacement of filters can aggravate its operation. Therefore, you need to know the main signs of its malfunction.

The first characteristic symptom is the difficult start of the motor. And, this can happen both "hot" and "cold". This indicates that the pump is difficult to develop sufficient pressure before starting. Ideally, this takes only 2-3 seconds. If the pump continues to buzz, then there are problems with the valves or diaphragm. The second sign is the characteristic behavior of the car. The car will react with delay to the gas pedal. The machine will work for a couple of seconds, and then it stalls. This is a sign that the gasoline in the system has run out, and we can proceed with further action. So, open the back door and remove the sofa. For this, we press from both sides on the latches under the carpet. Then we will see a small hatch. Below him, the petrol pump VAZ-2112 hides. Using a screwdriver, unscrew a pair of screws and remove the cover to the side. Then unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the pump with the spanner or the head with a ratchet. There are 8 of them.

How is the petrol pump replaced with VAZ-2112? The next step is to disconnect the fuel pipes. Depending on the type of motor (8- or 16-valve), they can be attached to the chips, or tightened on bolts. Also turn off the chip with wires. Installation

So, carefully remove the structure from the tank. To dismantle the old element, you need to remove the counter-cup. The pump itself is tight in the grooves on the latches. To remove it, you do not need to use keys or other equipment. It is easy enough to pull a hand and remove it from the seat. Also replace the mesh (coarse filter). Then install the new element in the same slots and do not forget to put on the plastic cup. Gently put everything in the tank and screw it on the bolts, sealing everything with an elastic band. This completes the whole replacement.

Cost

The price for new VAZ-2112 gasoline pump is from 1200 to 2000 rubles. What is noteworthy, the cheapest was the "Boschevsky" element. Of course, no one in Germany will make pumps for the "twelve". This is a cheap Chinese counterfeit. Therefore, it is better to buy a Saratov pump. It will last much longer than its counterpart. Also note that most items are already sold in the module (in collection with all tubes, filters, glasses, etc.). This significantly speeds up the replacement process.

Helpful advice

Making the replacement of the gasoline pump on VAZ-2112, ensure the maximum cleanliness of the lid of the element. It is inadmissible that dirt from it gets into the tank. It can easily clog the coarse filter (partially get into the new VAZ-2112 gasoline pump), because of which we will have to repair again. Clean up with a piece of rag, previously dampened in gasoline or "White Spirit".
