Palette RAL. All features

Anyone who at least once in his life encountered repair or design of any premises and buildings, he heard of a color map called RAL. With the help of this card, you will be able to decide on the choice of color and transfer it to the team of workers by means of a cipher alone, and there will be no error. But let's take a closer look at what kind of palette this is, and why is it so convenient?

Palette RAL

RAL is an international color standard that was created and developed in the late 1920s in Germany. It was compiled by a special department that developed trade standards. RAL was developed specifically for paint and varnish manufacturers. Initially it was used only in the industrial industry.

Today, this standard has become widespread among manufacturers of virtually all industries. The standard was chosen and fixed for the entire color range, which consists of separate areas. Each color was assigned an individual digital indicator. Since that time, the color range is regularly updated with new shades, according to the current demand from customers and in accordance with the requests and recommendations of manufacturers.

To date, the standard RAL includes more than 217 colors, including 17 metallic shades, 2 iron and 15 pearlescent. And when this standard only appeared, it included only 40 shades of all colors, which could have been purchased.

All numeric designations have a four-digit number. RAL - a palette of colors with the name, is presented in the following assortment: 30 shades of yellow, 13 shades of orange, 25 shades of red, 12 shades of violet, 25 shades of blue, 36 shades of green, 48 shades of gray, 20 shades of brown, 14 shades of light and dark colors .

Annually, for all manufacturers in different fields of activity (architecture, construction, industrial and urban design, interior, etc.) a new handbook is published, where all the colors of the RAL palette are presented.

Scale of color separation. Palette RAL

All colors in the catalogs are strictly ordered by shades, brightness and saturation. On the current day, there are three scales of the RAL table, with a division into CMYK and RGB. When choosing an online color, you need to keep in mind that the printed color will in future significantly differ from the chosen one due to the different color rendition on computer monitors and displays of mobile devices. Therefore, when choosing the right shade, it is best to use a paper catalog. The online catalog is still intended for reference only.

For ordering, you only need to name the desired color cipher. If it's hard for you to decide on the shade, you can always consult with specialists in this field.

Separation of indices by colors

In the four-digit index, the first of the digits is responsible for the primary color. They are divided as follows:

  • 1 - yellow palette;
  • 2 - orange palette;
  • 3 - red palette;
  • 4 - purple palette;
  • 5 - the blue palette;
  • 6 - the green palette;
  • 7 - gray palette;
  • 8 - brown palette;
  • 9 - a palette of white and black colors.
