Muslim wedding - traditions and customs

Islam is one of the oldest religions in the world. The Muslim wedding has been celebrated from time immemorial according to the same traditions and customs, because for the representatives of Islam the family is one of the most precious and eternal values. The Muslim wedding amazes with its lushness, abundance, wealth, because the magnitude of the celebration determines how much the future family will be hospitable, loving and, unequivocally, believing and worshiping religious traditions.

Of course, Islam is one of the most widespread religions in the world, but each country displays its own customs of the Muslim wedding. Organizing a Muslim wedding in all traditions means to combine the customs and mentality of the East and the West in the ceremony of marriage. But the marriage of Islamic traditions in all countries has a lot of similarities. A man must pay his future wife a "gift", its magnitude and high cost depends on the strength of love and feelings of her husband.

Before the marriage ceremony

Unlike other world religions, a Muslim man does not have the right, first, to see the nude parts of his beloved body, except the face and hands, and secondly, the meeting of young people can occur only in the presence of relatives, and thirdly, touch the girl Absolutely forbidden. On the night before the marriage, in some Islamic countries "night of henna" is held. The bride's friends gather in one house, give advice to a young girl about building a family life, how to communicate with her husband, and apply beautiful ornaments with henna to the skin of the feet and palms. The groom, along with friends, also gathers at the home of his parents, where they have fun until the morning, applying geometric figures of henna in the palm of a man. These rituals are a kind of farewell to a free, lonely life.

Muslim Wedding - Wedding

The secular and religious part of the marriage among the representatives of the Islamic religion do not depend on each other. In other words, at the conclusion of an official marriage in the registry office, the young do not become a full husband and wife. Muslim wedding, in the first place, implies the conduct of the ceremony of Nika, which is similar to the Christian wedding, that is, the consolidation of the family union before God.

Nika occurs in most cases in the mosque according to strictly regulated traditions. A mullah or Imam is married in the obligatory presence of two witnesses, preferably men, and the father or guardian of the bride. In order for a woman to know all her basic rights and duties, the mullah reads the fourth surah of the scripture, the Koran. The groom reads the size of the gift, which he is obliged to pay during joint marital life or in case of divorce. After the wedding ceremony, young women exchange rings.

The wedding attire of the young, of course, is expressed in strict Muslim traditions. Wedding dresses for Muslim women have a lot of differences from the vestments of brides of other religions. If in Europe the traditional color for a wedding dress is white, then in the Muslim tradition more vivid and rich shades are common. Dresses for Muslim women abound in luxury and wealth. Embroidered with gold ornament dresses, will not surprise anybody, after all in them there is a certain sacral meaning. But, of course, there is no single wedding dress in Muslim countries. Decorations, decorations, outfits, fabrics and colors vary depending on national traditions, as well as fashion trends.

Celebration and feast

When covering the table, the Muslim family also adheres to certain traditions - Walima. This rite is mandatory, as it carries a religious meaning. You can not find forbidden foods on the table, which are prescribed in the Quran, for example, alcoholic beverages and pork.
