Moving skyscraper in Dubai: the most grandiose project of our time

Dubai is not just an exotic city. This is a favorite place for tourists from all over the world. In addition, it amazes the imagination with an abundance of high-rise buildings of various shapes and shapes. It is estimated that by the number of storeys this is the highest city. It's hard to believe that half a century ago it was a seedy cattle-breeding village.

History of Dubai skyscrapers

In the eighteenth century, this settlement distinguished itself by the construction of a fortress called Al-Fahidi. And although there was only one floor, at that time it was quite a massive building, besides performing defense functions. We can consider this fortress a reference point, with which the subsequent high-rise construction began. The peak of it was the project, which built a moving skyscraper in Dubai.

The next giant was a business complex of 39 floors, with a total height of almost 150 meters, erected in the year 78 of the twentieth century. It was followed by the Burj Al Arab Hotel, already in 60 levels, "born" in 2000 on a specially formed for him island. The year 2008 enriched the Dubai Tower with Almas in a total of 74 floors, and 2010 - Burj Khalif, stretched more than 828 meters and includes 163 levels.

Rotating house: project

A masterpiece of engineering thought should be a moving skyscraper in Dubai. Tourists, looking forward to the appearance of this diva, gave him not quite the right name, although it was under him that the construction had already thundered all over the world. Naturally, the building will not move, this is still beyond the power of modern technology. The floors will turn. The idea as such originated with the Italian Fisher, who decided that it would be nice and very romantic to meet the sunset in the same room where you watched the dawn.

The world's first moving skyscraper will not be the highest in Dubai - only 80 floors are planned. But everyone will turn independently, not depending on other levels. True, only a few of them will obey the command of the voice - those where it is supposed to equip the most expensive apartments. The rest will rotate automatically.

Technical basis

The moving skyscraper in Dubai will be placed on a solid motionless base. In the center of the structure along its entire height, it is planned to mount a huge super-strong rod, which will ensure the stability and integrity of the structure, and the rotary mechanism will contribute to proportionality of rotation. The ability to turn will provide solar cells on photocells and wind turbines. Throughout the height of the building, elevators will be operating, bringing passengers (and, most curiously, cars) directly to the doors of the occupied premises. Thus, a moving skyscraper will become very comfortable for guests.

Some curious fear that rotation can create difficulties for daily life. This is not so: it is planned that a full turn of the floor will take three hours, so that during the movement the head will not be dizzy, coordination will not be disturbed, and dishes should not be beaten.

Terms of delivery

The moving skyscraper in Dubai was conceived back in 2008. The designers were enthusiastic and promised to finish it by 2010. All necessary calculations were made, estimates were compiled, and investors were found. However, the beginning of construction is postponed, and not the first time. This is explained by the need to check again all the technical parameters of the miracle being prepared, so that it affects only the appearance, but also the planned work of the mechanisms. The first moving skyscraper (Dubai) should demonstrate all its capabilities right from the opening day. After all, it is generally planned to build four such buildings only in this city, and another one - in Moscow. Failure with the trial option will destroy the rest of the grandiose plans and projects.

At the present time, cautious promises are being made to lay the foundation either in 2014, or in 2015. A firm date for the launch of the facility is currently not called, although, according to the calculations of the designers, each floor will take no more than six days.

One thing is for sure: when a moving skyscraper in Dubai is still ready, the number of tourists to this country will increase many times. Even now, despite the constant delays and lack of information on the completion of the project, interest in the idea of Fisher from travelers does not fall. When it becomes possible to see the original structure personally, there will be no limit to the enthusiasm of the curious.
