Medications for intercostal neuralgia

Medications for intercostal neuralgia are an integral part of the complex therapeutic effect. There are several groups of medicines used to eliminate this disease.

Analgesics are a must for intercostal neuralgia. These drugs have an analgesic effect (they eliminate the main symptom of the disease - pain). They include "Spazgan", "Sedalgin" and others. It is recommended to take these drugs no more than three to four times a day. More frequent use of drugs may not have the expected effect and provoke the development of side effects.

The following medications for intercostal neuralgia are anti-inflammatory drugs from the group of non-steroids. These include drugs such as "Diclofenac", "Voltaren", "Ibuprofen" and other means. The mechanism of action of these drugs is mainly based on the removal of inflammation. To a lesser extent, these medications can affect pain syndrome. As a rule, preparations of this group are prescribed once or twice a day. With more frequent use of them, the risk of developing or exacerbating gastrointestinal diseases increases. The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is allowed no more than five to seven days. Experts recommend giving preference to drugs in the form of suppositories (suppositories) or injections (injections). There are also non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and in the form of ointments for external use (for example, the drug "Nimid").

Miorelaxants are quite effective medications for intercostal neuralgia. These drugs can affect the muscle spasm - one of the main causes of the disease. The drugs from this group include "Clonazepam", "Baclofen" and others. The duration of their use is selected only by the doctor.

Obligatory to receive are vitamins, in particular, group B, since curing neuralgia with their deficiency is quite difficult. The lack of vitamins is often detected in patients with stomach diseases, diabetes mellitus, and also those who abuse alcohol.

In the treatment of the disease, local anesthetics are also used. They include lidocaine, novocaine. With a pronounced pain syndrome, blockades using these drugs are indispensable. They can greatly alleviate the pain. Blockades are prescribed in the number from two to five or seven. Control over the application is carried out by a specialist.

Often with intercostal neuralgia, drugs such as Relanium or Elenium are prescribed. These remedies help calm the patient, contribute to less susceptibility to pain.

Very effective are various ointments, which are based on bee venom. This means, for example, is "Apizarthron". The medication has a relaxing, warming, and also improving blood circulation action.

As a rule, the attending physician selects an individual therapeutic regimen for each patient. It is important to adhere to his recommendations, so as not to eliminate the consequences that may trigger intercostal neuralgia.

Treatment at home is appropriate and effective only for mild forms of pathology.

So, you can use porridge from fried horseradish. It should be applied to the sore spots very carefully, as the product causes burning.

You can also prepare an oral medication. For this, a glass of boiling water is poured into a tablespoon of herb mint, boiled for ten minutes. Half a glass of water is needed daily, in the evening and in the morning.

To sore spots (except the area of the heart) can also be applied mustard plasters. After them it is recommended to tie up the chest with a scarf.
