Liquid stool in infants. Should I worry?

Nutrition, sleep and stool kid - the problems that worried young moms most. Note that the liquid stool in infants is quite often. Is it normal? When is it worth it to sound an alarm? This is what we will discuss in this article.

Which chair is the norm?

Due to the fact that infants are feeding on milk, and their intestinal microflora is still imperfect, the mushy stool is considered normal. On the contrary, solid feces can cause a lot of problems, including constipation. If the baby is mostly breastfeeding, then his chair should resemble a thick cream sour cream. As for artificial feeding, it can be somewhat more dense.

How many times a day does the baby have to have a chair?

Unfortunately, there is no unambiguous answer to this question. Crumbs up to a year can defecate several times a day, everything depends entirely on the amount of food eaten and the work of the digestive tract. In this case, if the liquid stool of a month-old baby is not observed, the baby feels fine (not sluggish, not capricious, there is no heat or heat), then there is no reason to worry.

Chair in the first week of life

The first two or three days after the appearance of crumbs, the so-called first-born feces (otherwise meconium) come to light. It was formed in the womb. After this, the baby may not defecate at all within a couple of days. This is due to the fact that the colostrum is normally absorbed by a small organism, and there is simply no waste for waste. However, by the end of the first week, normal feces should form.

Why does a loose stool appear in infants?

Often, moms begin to worry about the fact that the stool of the crumbs does not differ in normal (mushy) condition. According to experts, liquid stool in infants is not always explained by microbes or infections in the body. Most often, the cause lies in the nutrition of the mother or baby. Due to the fact that the intestinal flora is not yet fully developed, absolutely any deviations from the correct or habitual diet (use of mixtures, introduction of complementary foods, violation of the diet by the mother) affect the operation of the gastrointestinal tract itself. Even if the loose stool in infants is accompanied by mucus, most likely, the cause is again covered in the diet. In this case, you should only consult a pediatric specialist who will suggest the recommended diet and, if necessary, prescribe bifidopreparations.

When is the situation considered dangerous?

Lethargy, temperature, loose stools in a child - these are the symptoms in which you need to seek medical help without much delay! If you did not start lure, eat the usual foods, most likely, the cause of such unpleasant problems lies in the infection. The specialist must necessarily examine the baby, assign a series of tests and give his recommendations. In no case should not hesitate, because these symptoms often speak of very serious malfunctions in the functioning of the body crumbs, including the violation of the gastrointestinal tract. Be healthy!
