What is Lycopid? The instruction to the drug explains that the remedy is the latest generation immunomodulator. Simply put, the medicine acts as a natural, natural immunomodulator. This bacterial preparation includes in its composition an artificially derived analog of one of the bacterial cell wall fragments.

This fragment is called glucosamenylmuramyl dipeptide. Constantly repeating, it forms a kind of skeleton, which, on the one hand, protects the bacterium, on the other - it indicates its belonging to the world of microbes. Influencing the receptors of the body glucosamenylmuramyl dipeptide, activates bactericidal and cytotoxic activity of cells of the immune system (phagocytes), synthesizes specific antibodies, restores the amount of granulocytes.

The drug "Lycopid", the instruction contains this information, has the property to stop the formation of metastases, produces a noticeable antitumor effect. In addition, the drug enhances the production of antibodies when, for immunization purposes, weakened antigens are introduced into the patient's body.

It is the glucosamenylmuramyl dipeptide (GMDP) that is the active substance of the medicinal preparation "Likopid". The instruction explains that lactose, sucrose, starch, cellulose act as auxiliary components. Therefore, people with intolerance of these substances from using the drug should refrain.

Tablets "Lycopid" 1 mg - round cylindrical, with a facet on one side. This is their distinguishing feature. The drug "Likopid" 10 mg - the same pills, but with a risk.

To whom is the medicine recommended? Usually it is used to correct the state of immunodeficiency. The drug is equally suitable for children (1 mg), and adults (1 mg, 10 mg).

It includes those suffering from autoimmune thyroiditis, especially in the acute stage, pregnant, nursing. Naturally, all those who are characterized by increased sensitivity to the constituent substances of tablets are also included here.

The drug "Likopid" can be used for monotherapy, but especially its action is actively combined with synthetic penicillins, cephalosporins. But sorbents and antacids markedly reduce the effectiveness of the drug, so their reception should be carried out in time. The drug "Lycopid" is not compatible with tetracyclines, sulfonamides.

Individual dosing is usually chosen by a physician. However, the instruction indicates the average dose.

Most often, adults are recommended to use a subvaginal tablet of 1 mg and simultaneously drink 10 mg of the drug. This regimen is suitable for the treatment of pulmonary infections, tuberculosis. If it is a question of more serious illnesses or diseases the dosage increases or is enlarged.

Children under 16 years of age are given medication only orally. Newborns are half a milligram twice a day, older - from 1 to 3 mg, depending on the complexity of the disease.

In addition, affordable medicine can be taken as a preventive for strengthening the body. But do not do it yourself. Only a doctor will be able to determine whether this remedy is recommended to a particular patient, how much medication will be enough for him.
