Lenovo V570 Notebook: an overview, description, features and reviews

The history of the Lenovo brand, exactly as a computer manufacturer, begins in 2004, when the company under the wing of IBM and on its pipelines started the release of its first devices. According to the contract, Lenovo could use IBM's name only by the end of 2010. But the transition to own production went to the company only for the benefit: the model range expanded significantly along with the sales segment, prices became more flexible, and innovative ideas won respect and caused positive emotions for many users.

Consider one of the most remarkable models of the company series IdeaPad, which combines business-class and portable multimedia in a practical way. So, the hero of today's review - Lenovo V570: disassembly and analysis of technical characteristics, pluses and minuses of the laptop, as well as opinions of experts and feedback from owners of the device.

Contents of delivery

A laptop is delivered in a pretty nice and brand-specific carton pack, where everything is neatly laid out "on the shelves." In addition to the Lenovo V570 itself, you can see a six-cell battery at 48 Wh (4400 mAh) and a 90-watt power supply with a network cable.

From the documentation you can find a fairly detailed manual in Russian, a safety book along with general information and a memo on the initial configuration of the device. In addition, the laptop is equipped with proprietary drivers for Windows 7 and 8 operating systems for both digits (32/64 bit).

Design

Externally, the notebook Lenovo V570 looks interesting and attractive. The cover of the laptop along with the working area is made of polished aluminum, painted in a gray-bluish color. Plastic made only a thin strip on the end of the lid and painted in the same tone. The only decoration that can be seen on the top of the Lenovo V570 is the brand's logo, otherwise - rigor, brevity and "manhood", that is rounded corners or any color accents so beloved by the female half, you will not see. Perhaps, therefore, in their reviews, girls constantly complain about the stinginess of colors, as well as the absence of small beautiful chips and other "nyashes".

In addition, aluminum panels not only give the laptop a finished look coupled with aesthetics, but also add a few points to the strength of the design. The working surface is absolutely not subject to any deflections or deformations, which can not be said about the cover of the Lenovo V570: with a strong push, the upper part can be worn down to the touch with the matrix.

The display is attached to the main body of the notebook with two hinges. Due to the provided recess on the cover, the laptop can be opened up to 140 degrees, and the display is fixed almost tightly, which makes it comfortable to work with the device in any position.

Dimensions Lenovo IdeaPad V570 is quite typical for a 15.6-inch gadget: 38 x 25 x 3, with a weight of 2.4 kg (with a battery connected).

Display

The device is equipped with a 15.6-inch TN matrix from the Samsung 16L01 series. It is glossy though, but it has quite a good spread of contrast (170: 1) with a mediocre brightness for TN. It's possible to work comfortably with Lenovo V570 only in the office, while it's almost impossible to use a laptop in a sunny day on the street.

The screen has a standard resolution for its size in 1366 by 768 pixels with a 16: 9 format. For simultaneous launch of several applications, the resolution is clearly not enough, and the graphical indicators are not the main end of the Lenovo V570 screen. Characteristics of viewing angles are more than traditional for such matrices: horizontal angles change contributes to the appearance of reflection effects, and vertical rotation resets all colors to gray. But this is the problem of all TN matrices, and this model was no exception, especially as numerous reviews of the owners are full of complaints about the inability to properly view movies or photos in the company with friends or even with one person.

Sound

The audio system works on two 1.5-watt speakers, and the sound system is answered by Cougar Point PCH from Intel. Sound grids are placed on the work surface above the keyboard, and what really pleased many users is the unusual and at the same time successful design of the speakers: asymmetrical slots are conveniently located to the left and right of the perforated strip.

But the sound quality is not so good as the appearance of the speakers: the high frequencies are too pronounced compared to the low ones, and the maximum volume leaves much to be desired. Watching the movie in home (quiet) conditions can be more or less comfortable, but in crowded or noisy places you have to turn to high-quality headphones for help, otherwise you will not hear anything, even after careful adjustment of the equalizer.

Input Devices

The keyboard for the laptop Lenovo V570 is made in the familiar island style AccuType. The buttons are square with slightly rounded corners and a slightly concave surface - just for the pads of the fingers.

While working with the keyboard, judging by the feedback of the owners, there is no discomfort: there are no wrong presses, soft, noiseless and short stroke, and besides, all the keys are in their usual places. The marking is made in white, and only the functional key combination Fn is marked in orange. The keyboard layout has a standard form and as a pleasant addition is equipped with a separate digital unit.

At the top of the working surface you can see the power button with a white LED backlight and a very useful One Key Rescue button, which creates a backup copy of the operating system in one touch.

On the right side are informative indicators with similar white backlighting: two diodes for hard drive readings and the Caps Lock and Num Lock indicators.

Touchpad

The Synaptics series manipulator is located slightly to the left of the main working area and, in addition to conventional controls, supports all popular multi-touch gestures. Many users in their reviews noted as a weighty plus the size of the touchpad - 10 x 5 cm with a convenient marking for vertical scrolling.

The surface of the manipulator feels a bit rough to the touch, but it does not prevent it from sliding on it with your finger. A thin frame, made in chrome stylistics, not only visually, but also tactile, helps to orient in the control area, not allowing the fingers to jump out of the working surface.

Performance

Any operating system installed by default does not have a device, only the DOS platform is installed. The drivers that come with the laptop solve the compatibility problems, so there should not be any questions during installation.

The device is equipped with a rather smart processor from Intel of the second generation - Core i3-2330M with a frequency of 2.2 GHz with 3 MB cache of the third level on board. The chip runs on 32 nm technology with a very low TDP (35W), which allows it to be fully loaded without load on the cooling system of the gadget. The RAM depends on the particular model and can vary from 4 to 8 GB.

The built-in HD Graphics card of the 3000 series is responsible for the video, and its performance can be compared with the external devices GeForce 310M and HD 5450 from the "Radeon". The base frequency of the card varies within 650 MHz, and in turbo mode up to 1100 MHz.

The variational models are equipped with discrete cards from Nvidia GT 525M series with DD3 memory for 1 GB and support for DirectX 11.

Ports and communications

The set of ports is standard for this kind of device: a full set of video outputs, USB interfaces, an Internet connector, a microphone, headphones, an optical drive and WiFi. The Lenovo V570 differs from other models in having a graphics switch on the front end, which makes it easy to choose the built-in chip instead of the discrete one and vice versa.

Otherwise, everything is customary and there are no critical remarks: the ports are well located, each other does not interfere, and the abundance of USB-outlets allows you to connect a variety of peripherals.

Autonomous work

The capacity of the battery (4400 mAh) in idle mode is enough for about ten hours. If you set the energy-saving mode (40% brightness of the screen and the working Internet), then reading and surfing the web will drain the battery in six hours. In the standard mode, the laptop lasts for three minutes, with the laptop turned off after about an hour and a half with the WiFi turned on.
