Kulunda lakes in the Altai Territory

One of the largest natural reservoirs of the Altai Territory is Kulunda Lake. They are located in the lowlands in the place of the flat sea. The shores of the largest among them have a flat structure. At the end of their journey, the waters of the lakes merge with the Kulunda River. They feed on this water flow, as well as underground keys. Previously, Kulunda lakes were connected, due to what people were considered a single reservoir, now they are separated by dams.

For travelers with cars, the coastline clearly does not seem too convenient: in the spring there is a sticky salt marsh. It's almost impossible to get out of it, you have to push the car and rake out the sticky ground.

The area of the lake is constantly changing. This is due to the fact that in the summer because of the dry climate evaporation occurs. In principle, this is a natural phenomenon - a way to get rid of excess water.

a brief description of

Kulunda Lake (Altai Territory) is a shallow water body: the bottom is at a distance of up to 5 m, although this point is usually 2.5-3 m more often. The coastline does not differ in size (105 km). The water in the pond is practically unsalted and warm, even in winter. In the summer, the lake can warm up to +30 degrees. The surrounding area around the Kulunda stream has a predominantly steppe appearance.

In the west and north comfortable and comfortable beaches are located. The only drawback of the reservoir can be called the lack of the opportunity to dive from the bridge: in order to reach the place where at least to the waist, you will have to pass a decent gap in shallow water. However, for those who have children, this option will be very successful. Near a reed it is better not to bathe, as near plants the mice are constantly found. Kulunda lake (on the map the article shows the area) shallow, but even in the most arid periods it does not dry up. The bottoms can bare only small bays and not for long. This phenomenon is explained by the fact that the groundwater well feeds the lake itself. After getting the liquid on the skin there will be no salt deposits, as, for example, after the water of the Spring Stream (also located in the Altai Territory).

Tourist conveniences

There is no recreation center on the shores of the lake. Everyone who came here to live, either in tents, or in one of the lodges near a nearby village. There are no prohibitions; The only problem is that you can not find firewood for the fire, (they will have to be bought), and you can dial water for drinking and eating in any well of the nearest settlement. In order to rinse after bathing in a salty lake, you will have to walk to the pond Znamenka.

To get to the Altai Sea (as the locals call the lake), it's enough to get to the city of Slavgorod. And from there there is already a direct bus. Those who do not want to live in a tent, you can rent a room in a private holiday home.

Flora and fauna

Historically, the Kulunda Lakes are a nesting and residence site for many rare birds and animals. It is often enough when flying a feathery with huge packs stop for a while here on vacation. As a rule, each season their number per one trip to the south is more than 200 thousand individuals of various types: from geese to seagulls. Some of them remain in this place for summer nesting. Kulunda lakes have become a permanent home for 150 species of birds. In order to protect rare representatives, nature reserves and special parks were established. In the steppes, you can meet a jerboa.

Unfortunately, the fish here are much smaller than the nesting birds. Due to the fact that the area of the Altai Sea is constantly decreasing, there is more salt, the fish is dying out. Fishermen, who very much want to catch prey in the proposed area, will have to do this only at the confluence with the river. Although here and get a perch is a luxury, but you can do it.

pros

Getting from the village to the lake is easy enough. This can be done on foot - who does not like such walks in the beautiful countryside? But if you want, you can take the bus and drive directly to the beach. In general, the reservoir has life-giving energy and great power. Here is a pleasant climate, which is so similar to the sea. Pleases birdsong. You can see flamingos, they are often on the Altai Sea.

Healing properties

Kulundinskoe lake (photo it is presented in the article) began to gain popularity, thanks to the healing properties of the soil and the waters themselves. Those patients, who have problems with the lungs, will perfectly approach rest in these places. This fact can be explained by the fact that evaporation has a lot of bromine in it, which has a positive effect on the breathing process and just calms the nerves.
