Kimographic perturbation - what is this method?

Uterine tubes play an important role in the conception of the child, because immediately after ovulation the egg penetrates exactly where the fertilization process takes place. Then the zygote (fertilized egg) moves to the uterus, where it penetrates into the mucous membrane. As we see, without a fallopian tube, normal conception is impossible. If their patency is disturbed or the inflammatory process is observed, the zygote can not enter the uterine cavity, and conception develops in the tube itself (ectopic pregnancy).

This is very dangerous for the life and health of women. To avoid such consequences, a thorough diagnosis of the condition of the organs is necessary. To investigate the activity of pipes, perturbation is suggested - it is a medical procedure in which a doctor enters carbon dioxide or air into the fallopian tubes, uterus and abdominal cavity to determine their functional state.

To whom is the procedure carried out?

The procedure for women with a diagnosis of "infertility" is indicated. It is also prescribed to persons who have experienced adnexitis or salpingo-oophoritis, as well as patients suffering from endocrine pathologies. The third category of patients is those who already had an ectopic pregnancy. Sometimes this method is combined with other medical-diagnostic procedures: laparoscopy, hysterosalpingography, and then there is already perturbation. This is necessary for a more informative and accurate examination.

Conditions for conducting

Puffing is carried out immediately after the end of menstruation (before ovulation). Before the procedure, the doctor necessarily conducts a bimanual examination of the cervix and vagina, and also performs a smear test. At the time of diagnosis, the patient should not suffer from inflammatory diseases.

Techniques for conducting

Kimographic perturbation is a painless procedure that is performed on an outpatient basis. During this method, the administration of analgesics and injections is not required. First, the doctor disinfects the vagina and genitals, then enters the gynecological mirror and uses bullet forceps to expose the cervix.

A special rubber tube with a tip is gently pushed into the uterine cavity, and then carbon dioxide or air is released. When blowing, a kymographic record is kept in the system. The perturbation of the fallopian tubes does not take more than 5-7 minutes. After its termination the computer counts the data and gives the final result about the functional activity of the internal organs.

If there is an obstruction or a violation of the peristalsis of the tubes, the doctor will prescribe additional methods of examination and appropriate therapy. Perturbation is an important procedure for assessing women's health. It is not performed in pathologies of the cardiovascular system, as well as in the acute stage of genital tract and tuberculosis.
