Khoren Oganesyan: all the most interesting about the legend of Soviet football and the national pride of Armenia

Khoren Oganesyan is a true legend of Armenian football. This man was born in 1955 in Yerevan, since childhood he started to get involved in this sport, choosing for himself the position of the midfielder. He has an interesting biography and career, so it's worth telling about this in more detail.

Beginning of football activity

Khoren Oganesyan was born and raised in an athletic family. His father was a weightlifter and deserved coach of the Armenian SSR. Mom was a professional gymnast. The elder brother of Khoren was engaged in football, and the younger decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and became a master of sports on the bar.

Khoren Oganesyan left the usual domestic football. But his success was good. For example, at the age of 14 in 1969, he won the All-Union tournament of the yard teams "Leather Ball", playing at that time for the team "Ani". Then he, by the way, scored one of the goals in the final.

Then the sportsman went to a sports school, and when he graduated from it, he submitted documents to the Institute of National Economy, specializing in state planning. When he studied, he was invited to speak for the USSR youth team. Coach Evgeny Lyadin saw the potential in the young player. He also wrote a recommendation to Khoren to the leadership of "Ararat". After this, the player was taken to the team's double. This was in 1973. For a double, the player played for two years.

Way to success

Khoren Oganesyan held his debut official match for FC Ararat on March 19, 1975. It was a game that took place in the ¼ finals of the Champions Cup. And the opponent was more than serious - the Munich "Bavaria". The match ended with a minimal victory with the score 1: 0 in favor of the Armenian club. Then Khoren came on the field already in the USSR championship - against the "Dnieper". Then the Armenian team won with a score of 3: 0.

Footballer showed obvious success. He scored a lot, had a good command of the ball, was pretty technical. And in 1975 he won the USSR Cup. The following year, he won with the team second place, and then won in the European Youth Championship.

The skill of the young talented football player was noticed by representatives of the national team. Of course, he was invited to the squad. There he began performing since 1979. In 1982, even participated in the World Cup and scored a magnificent goal for the Belgian team. But his career finished quickly - in 1984, having played 34 matches and having issued 6 goals.

In 1985 Oganesyan Khoren left Ararat because of disagreements with the leadership. Almost two years did not go on the field, but then agreed to play for the Yerevan "Iskra", and since 1989 he played for "Pakhtakor". Throughout his career, Oganesyan Horen scored 93 goals and played 305 matches. And he was listed five times by 33 best players of the season.

Coach career

In 1991, Oganesyan Horen began to try himself as a coach. He led the Simferopol "Tavria". Officially, the post of head coach was occupied by Anatoly Zayayev, but Oganesyan was involved in the whole process.

But then the USSR collapsed, and Khoren returned to Armenia, where he decided to found the club. He was called the "Armenian General Sports Union". Despite the fact that at that time Khoren was already a veteran of football, he decided to continue to enter the field. And in the first season he takes the team to the final and becomes the champion of Armenia.

Then he moved to Lebanon and began to run the club "Omenetmen". In the first season brought the team to fifth place, and in the next - to the third. Then he returned to Armenia and began to lead his own team, which at that time changed the name to "Pyunik". Khoren Oganesyan is a football player with a lot of experience and strength, by that time he was already at an age, but he played for the team, thus becoming a playing coach. In the first season, his club won a gold double, and in the second - champion gold. But by the end of the 90's things did not go very smoothly, and Oganesyan decided to leave the team.

Achievements

Khoren Oganesyan is a football player with an amazing career. He achieved really great success in this sport. Together with "Ararat" he became a silver medalist of the USSR Championship and the winner of the USSR Cup. With "Cilicia" won the Armenian Championship (twice, in 1992 and 1996) and the Cup of the country. Five times was in the list of the best footballers of the season, and in 1975 was recognized as the best debutant of the year. In 1982, and did receive the prize "For the most beautiful goal of the season."

Also Oganesyan Khoren, photo of which is provided above, is the champion of Europe-1976 among the youth teams. He also won bronze at the Olympic Games, held in 1980.
