Kherson, Iron Port: resort description

This article is for those who chose in 2014 a holiday in Kherson (Iron Port). Prices at this resort, despite everything, remained at the same level. And the Northern Black Sea Coast - Koblevo, Zatoka, Azure, Bolshevik and Ochakov - have always been considered the cheapest places in Ukraine for recreation. A hot dry summer, fast-warming water, wide sandy beaches - all this makes the resorts tempting to travel with the whole family. Of course, there are no mountains and Mediterranean vegetation. But the Black Sea coast, a cheap alternative to the Crimea, has something to offer its guests. The tourist infrastructure of the local resorts is developing rapidly. Small settlements, former state farms, quickly grow in coastal boulevards, mini-hotels, neat cottages on the shore. Let's consider here one of the resorts - Iron Port.

History

These places rattled in the times of Zaporizhzhya Sich. At the beginning of the eighteenth century the Cossacks founded the Naked Pereviz (the modern city of Naked Wharf). This point controlled the tract through which the Chumaks carried salt through Prognoevskaya Palanka and Kherson. Iron Port is a new village. It was founded only in 1922 by settlers from the village of Kelegei. The former inhabitants of the mainland, who happened to be on the shore, joked that their village "had sunk into the sea". Later the name Zalizny Port was translated literally into Russian. According to another version, previously there was a long iron pier, to which ships with salt moored. The sea and storms that came ashore destroyed it, but the name remained. The third version says that already at the beginning of the 20th century, there was a barn, covered with a plate, on the shore. It gleamed in the sun and served the sailors with a definite landmark.

How to get there?

It is best to arrive by train or plane to Kherson. Iron Port, the distance to which is more than 70 kilometers, lies in the south of the region. From the bus station, which is located near the central market of the regional center, buses run several times a day. But if you came by train, you do not need to go to town. Directly from the station square there are minibuses "Kherson - Iron Port". The bus leaves as passengers fill the seats. The fare in the bus does not differ from the bus - 40 hryvnia (at the rate of about 110 Russian rubles). The travel time is an hour and a half, depending on the busy streets in Kherson. In summer, a small comfortable minibus from Kiev runs to Iron Port. By car it is necessary to move along the highway "Kherson-Tsyurupinsk", then turn to Naked Pier and navigate along the road signs to the Iron Port.

Where to live?

The tourist base in the village was formed back in the 70s of the last century. On the first line are boarding houses, holiday homes and children's camps. Homesteads of residents, including modern mini-hotels, are located a little further from the sea. But the private sector, the price for a bed in which starts from 40 UAH per day, can satisfy even the most demanding client, however, at a much higher price. It is for a variety of services that Kherson values. Iron Port, boarding houses which offer and three meals a day, are also cheaper than similar ones in the Crimea or in the Odessa region. Organized vacation in holiday homes "Yakor", "Suzirya", "Victoria," Vivat ", on the tourist bases" Three whales "," Breeze "," Slavutich "and others is good because the buildings and lodges are located in the park zone. And in the steppe the greenery of trees is an additional luxury. And the beach will be within easy reach.

Entertainment Infrastructure

But not always live near the beach comfortably. The entire entertainment infrastructure in the village is concentrated near the so-called promenade. The locals themselves call the Iron Port "Kherson Las Vegas". Life here does not cease and far after midnight. Disco clubs, striptease bars, restaurants and cafes decorate the southern velvet evenings with color music. Children who season enjoys the amusement park. But some attractions chill blood even adults. Sand-shell beaches have long been cultivated, but still remain free. And this is also another advantage, from which the resort Kherson, Iron Port wins. Many of the beaches are equipped with canopies or umbrellas buried in the ground. Entertainment on the water are represented by "bananas", catamarans, scooters and other motorized water crafts. In the center of the village on the beach there is a rental of sun loungers and umbrellas.

Kherson, Iron Port, prices

For many Ukrainians, the Northern Black Sea Region is a place for more than a budget vacation. And this applies to housing, food, and entertainment. The price depends on the status of the establishment and its proximity to the beach. Not the least role is played and the season - in July, everything becomes more expensive. In any case, in stores the products are sold at the same prices as in the regional center. The rural market pleases with an abundance of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, fish and seafood.

Excursions

A short history of the village does not at all mean that there are no sights there. Directly to the village, on the west side, adjoins the territory of the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve, one of the largest in Ukraine. It extends far, includes the lands of the Kinburn and Tendrovian braids, the Yagorlytsky Kut tract. It is the only desert in Europe - Oleshkovskie Sands. 15 km from the Iron Port since 2005 is open to those who wish to improve their geyser. Water striking from it, has a temperature of +70 ° C. Saturated with iodine and salts, the brown liquid enters two baths. Another one has healing mud. On the promenade of the Iron Port and in boarding houses, you can sign up for more distant excursions: to the Askania-Nova reserve, to the salty lake in Golaya Pristan, to the island of Dzharylgach or to the Dnieper plavni.
