"Jodha and Akbar": actors and characters in the history of great and pure love

In 2008, the Indian film Jodha and Akbar, the story of great love, was filmed. Actors involved in the main roles - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan. The director of the film, who is also the producer, Ashutosh Gowariker invited them out of opportunistic considerations, because both actors are stars of the first magnitude and it was necessary to strengthen the image of the film from the very beginning. Nobody knew how the Indian public would perceive a historical film with a political overtones. And popular actors often "pull out" the failed film projects with their only presence in the frame.

Politics and feelings

However, the film "Jodha and Akbar" is a story of great love. Actors of Indian cinema can best be played by love scenes, such are the traditions of Bollywood. The creators of the picture hoped for this, and, first and foremost, the director Gouvariker. The script was written taking into account the human qualities of Aishwarya and Hrithik, the character traits of the performers seem to be shifted to the characters of the main characters, and it turned out that the actors played themselves as if they were in the 16th century.

In the center of the plot is a historical marriage alliance, which was conceived by the ambitious Emperor Akbar. The more he conquered new lands, the more difficult it was to manage them. His possessions, the original land of the Mughals, multiplied as a result of bloody wars, but the conquered peoples reluctantly submitted to the will of a cruel and calculating tyrant. After trying to impose his rule on the Rajput population of many thousands, Akbar realized that this time he could not deal with them.

The decision of Akbar

And then the ruler decided to be related to a wayward nation. The king of Rajputs Bharmala had a daughter, Princess Jodha, and she chose Akbar to carry out her plans. He had no idea what the planned political marriage would turn out for him. The immortal ruler of the Mughal Empire intends to conclude a political marriage with the daughter of Bharmal, while the princess did not have any reciprocal feelings.

Princess thinks otherwise

Moreover, Jodha does not even hide his hatred of the tyrant. Hindus and Muslims never differed in a special disposition toward each other, a dominant feeling, and both had dislike. Jodha and Akbar (actors perfectly played their characters) also do not feel mutual interest, especially the princess, who is upset that she will have to become the wife of an unloved person who is also the enslavement of her people.

What did Jodha do?

However, the princess thinks constructively, tries to contain her emotions and eventually decides to sacrifice herself for the sake of Rajput welfare. She approaches with Akbar, accepts his society as inevitable and, to his surprise, notices that he is not such a cruel and unprincipled person as Jodha had imagined him before. A woman unexpectedly wakes up in her, sympathetic and attentive, able to listen and understand. For Akbar, communication with the bride also becomes unexpectedly desired.

Accustomed to command Jalaladdin Akbar will be much surprised by the changes in his attitude, which came after several meetings with the princess. He felt that he lacked communication with the girl. In the ruthless until recently, the heart was born love. There comes a mutual understanding, and they are already trying to spend together as much time as possible.

Changes

In the film "Jodha and Akbar" actors in the lead roles, as well as simple extras and other participants of the shooting genuinely empathized with the heroes, everyone wanted the story of great love to have a happy ending. Jodha, who conquered her husband with meekness and feminine attention, gradually inclines him to respectfulness, from the tyrant Akbar turns into a merciful ruler who is no stranger to humanity.

Project on TV

In addition to the full-length film, the television series "Jodha and Akbar" was also created, the actors in which other actors participated. The princess was actress Pariji Sharma, and the ruler Jalaladdin Akbar - popular Rajat Tokas. Later, the cast was expanded in the series, a few more characters added to the script, which made it possible to shoot dozens of additional series.

In Bollywood, such films were rarely produced, in fact, this film project became unique and even unique, even though it was called simply "Jodha and Akbar." The actors and roles of the series demanded full compatibility and consistency, any discrepancy between the type of performer and the character's synopsis could destroy the film's organics.

Difficulties in staging

Originally, when the work on the project "Jodha and Akbar" began, the actors and roles of the series, the director and the producer team - all merged into a single creative organism, which began to work for a decent result. But the shooting lasted a long time, most of the episodes had to be duplicated, the specificity of the historical material affected. The quality of the production left much to be desired, many episodes were repeated from series to series.

Disappointment of the public

Nevertheless, the series "Jodha and Akbar", the actors in which they played not in full force, got its own, albeit small, audience. However, with each new series, the spectators grew disappointed, the logic in the production became less and less, there was no chronology, no one was following the script. Actors and roles of the series "Jodha and Akbar" are not always and not in all harmonies. And in the end the shooting stopped, and the project was closed. However, the actors of the series "Jodha and Akbar" did not remain without work, they were already waiting for another project. It is to be hoped that it will be more successful.

At the same time, the feature film "Jodha and Akbar", the actors and roles in which fully met the director's intention, continued to collect complete rooms.
