Modern design solutions are sometimes very simple. One of them is the principle that does not mean the creation of new weapons, but the modernization of existing models, which have proven themselves well. One of the favorite pistols, which is experimented with for more than a decade, is the PM ( Makarov's pistol ). It has been in service with the Russian army and special services since 1951. Despite the fact that it was developed back in the Soviet era, its combat and operational characteristics are in demand even today. Moreover, progress does not stand still, and new developments based on it take into account the experience not only of domestic, but also foreign weapons makers. A classic example of such weapons is the service pistol IZH-71 developed on the basis of the PM.

History of creation

The IZH-71 pistol was developed by the designers of the Izhevsk Arms Plant on the basis of the PM in 1994. All the original is simple - it is a modification of the aforementioned PM for the Browning cartridge, which is adopted as standard in a number of European countries (Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic). This automatically implied the possibility of selling the pistol for export. But the original task, which the designers set themselves, is the creation of a service pistol for workers of private security structures. The requirements for this version of weapons differ from the combat one. It is used to protect natural resources, private property, life and health of other people.

And the IZH-71 pistol, whose characteristics roughly correspond to the PM, did meet the necessary conditions. However, in 2006 the government attempted to withdraw it from the security structures. The reason for this lay in the fact that, according to the Federal Arms Act, weapons used by state paramilitary structures can not be used in the Armed Forces. A adopted gun IZH-71 was just the Federal Bailiff Service. Despite these problems, the gun still regularly serves various security agencies and companies. In addition, it features a simple device, low weight, small size. All this allows you to comfortably carry it under your clothes. Also externally it is almost impossible to distinguish it from PM.

With all this IZH-71 still has differences from Makarov's pistol. First of all, this is the type of cartridge used, but there are also smaller differences. It has a lower initial speed of the bullet, this corresponds to the requirements for the security weapon. It must have limitations that relate to the range of fire, caliber, and also the damaging factor. Characteristics IZH-71 almost do not differ from the PM, which makes it possible to apply it more efficiently.

Principle of operation of the pistol

Automation of weapons functions by the principle of the release of a free shutter, which is not linked to the barrel. However, when firing the bolt reliably locks the barrel due to its large mass and a strong return spring.

The design of the shock-trigger mechanism, as already mentioned, allows you to immediately open fire by pressing the trigger. This is possible thanks to the trigger type mechanism.

Security

The Izh-71 gun has reliable fuses. So, in addition to the standard fuse, which is located on the left side of the gun, there are also additional means of protection against an accidental shot. The trigger after the shot was fired is automatically placed on the safety platoon, if the trigger is released.

- the frame of the pistol includes the trunk and trigger guard;

- a bolt, the design of which also includes an ejector, a drummer and a fuse;

- shock-trigger mechanism;

- return spring;

- Handle and screw;

In addition, the standard equipment of the pistol includes a spare shop, a pistol belt and a holster, rubbing.

Sights

The gun has standard sighting devices, consisting of a whole and a fly. Usually the sight is permanent, but modifications are made in which you can change its position to achieve greater accuracy.

How weapons function

To make a shot, you need to press your finger on the trigger. In this case, the trigger beats the drummer, which breaks the cartridge capsule. Because of this, the main powder charge ignites, and the bullet leaves the barrel channel under the influence of powder gases.

The same gases, escaping from the bottom of the cartridge case, act on the bolt. It retreats back, while compressing the return spring and engaging the cartridge with the ejector. On the way to the shutter, the reflector throws the shot sleeve through a special window in the shutter. When the bolt reaches the extreme rear position, it turns the trigger on the trunnions and again puts it on the fighting platoon. Then the return spring starts to open and moves the bolt forward. When it moves forward, another cartridge is engaged by the dispenser and enters the chamber. All the details returned to their original position and the gun is ready to fire again.

To shoot again, you need to release the trigger, and then press it again. Thus, shooting from the Izh-71 pistol is carried out until the time when the magazine does not run out of ammunition. After that, the bolt is put on the delay and remains in the extreme rear position until recharging.

Maintenance and care of weapons

Like any other mechanism, the gun must be regularly cleaned and lubricated. Neglecting these procedures may cause the gun to break, shooting or delays will occur.

One of the mandatory conditions of care is the disassembly of weapons. In the case of IZH-71, this is especially true. Gun IZH-71, whose characteristics, although still at a high level, still requires maintenance. It is possible to carry out both complete and incomplete disassembly. Its first type is designed to clean the weapon in case it was heavily soiled and was exposed to rain and snow. Also a complete disassembly should be done with lubrication, repair. But we must remember that such a procedure is often not recommended, since it wears out the details of the product.

Incomplete disassembly of the gun IZH-71 is necessary for lubrication, cleaning and inspection of the gun. Both in that and in the other case for implementation, certain conditions are necessary - a clean surface (bench, table) or at least a litter. When disassembling the parts are laid out in the order of removal, they must be handled with care and do not allow their falls or shocks. Also it is necessary to follow the numbering, so as not to confuse them with parts of another pistol.

The order of incomplete disassembly of the gun:

- removing the magazine from the handle;

- Separation of the shutter from the pistol frame;

- removal of the return spring from the barrel.

Assemble the gun in the reverse order. Once it is implemented, it is necessary to verify its correctness. A badly assembled pistol can be a threat not only to other people, but primarily to its owner. Therefore, after the pistol is collected, the following actions are performed - the fuse is switched off by moving its flag down. After that, the shutter is automatically set to the gate delay. It is turned off and the shutter assumes its normal position. The trigger must remain on the battle platoon. Then the fuse is turned on. In this case, the trigger must immediately disengage from the fighting position and be blocked. If this does not happen. The weapon is assembled incorrectly, and reassembly is necessary.
