Is it profitable to produce foreign cars of the Russian assembly

Among motorists, it has already become a tendency to give preference not to domestic cars, but to foreign cars. Machines produced abroad have a more attractive appearance, are characterized by greater reliability, comfort and safety. Foreign manufacturers have thought over every detail, paid attention to every detail, starting from the car seat, ending with the air-conditioning system. In such a car it is not only more convenient to drive, it is much easier to manage.

To somehow increase the demand for domestic car industry, it was decided to produce foreign cars of the Russian assembly. Such cars are, in fact, cars of foreign brands, but their production is carried out on the territory of the Russian Federation. As a rule, large automotive concerns are engaged in the production of cars not only on the territory of their country, but also beyond its borders. Among those can be identified Ford and Toyota.

Initially, such a scheme is designed to make cars produced in Russia cost less than those imported into the country. But foreign brands of the Russian assembly are not inferior in price to cars produced in other countries. This is due to the cost of materials used for their assembly. Automobile plants in Russia that produce Peugeot, Mitsubishi and Citroen cars declare that assembly of such cars in Europe will be cheaper by 5-10%. And in Korea, such savings can be 15-20%.

This trend of pricing is due to the fact that the government of the Russian Federation contributes to the development of domestic manufacturers in the field of automotive industry, which has its own legal and regulatory framework. Based on such a government decree, cars produced in Russia must be assembled for 30% of domestic components. Only then the assemblers of foreign cars will be able to enjoy the benefits of customs import. Initially, this should be simple details: disks, glasses, rugs. More complex parts can be used only when the foreign brands of the Russian assembly meet the requirements of the world auto industry. Unfortunately, the level of quality of components manufactured in Russia is far from ideal and needs serious improvement.

A sufficient number of enterprises specializing in the assembly of foreign cars operate on the territory of the Russian Federation. Among them, one can distinguish such representatives of Japanese brands as Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi. In the near future, it is planned to open another factory, which will produce cars Mazda. The cost of this foreign brand of the Russian assembly will come from the customs privileges used to import the original spare parts.

Unfortunately, the assembly of foreign cars in Russia does not justify the hopes placed on it initially. The cost of cars of the Russian assembly is not lower than that of imported cars. Quality, as we see, is far from ideal. But hope for an improvement in the situation is worth it. The domestic auto industry took a course to modernize its products, which in the end would make it affordable for Russians to buy foreign cars. And the automotive industry in Russia will rise to a new level.
