Interiors of dining rooms: modern ideas. Dining room furniture

"I'll dine in the dining room and operate in the operating room!" - that's how Professor Preobrazhensky from Bulgakovsky "The Dog's Heart" responded to the demand to "tighten up" and part with one of the rooms of his apartment. Unfortunately, during the Soviet period, urban dwellings with canteens became a rarity. Moreover, the kitchens in multi-story apartment buildings, for example in the Khrushchevs, were so tight that it was difficult to fit a tiny table for a meal, behind which could accommodate 2-3 people.

Today apartments in new buildings have a more comfortable layout. However, even the owners of spacious private homes as a place for eating separate rooms continue to allocate extremely rare. Instead, most Russians prefer the option "kitchen-dining room", and sometimes their union with the living room.

Benefits

Kitchen-dining room is convenient because the hostess does not have to serve the table outside the room where utensils and appliances are stored, and also to transfer food to another room, located far from the stove, refrigerator and dishwasher.

Sometimes the owners of the apartments go even further and unite a living room in one large space. The popularity of this option is associated with the fashion for spacious studios. However, interiors of dining rooms of this type are not popular with everyone.

disadvantages

The options that unite the living room, the dining room and the kitchen have not only a lot of admirers, but also many critics. The fact is that this way of planning the housing, which came to us from the West, does not correspond to the Russian mentality. It is difficult to imagine an American or a Frenchwoman, who cooks pickles in the kitchen or cooks jam there. In such cases, even in the presence of stretching, the room will have a high humidity and temperature, which will discomfort the rest of the family who want to relax in the combined living room.

Layout options for the kitchen area

There are several solutions for the placement of furniture, appliances and the necessary equipment in the premises, designed simultaneously for cooking and eating.

The most popular are the angular, that is, the L-shaped and linear layouts. This is not surprising, since it is precisely with the arrangement of storage systems and work surfaces, as well as household appliances along one wall or with a small branch, that the maximum possible area of useful space will remain, so that a dining group can be installed.

If you consider the interior of a dining room in a private house, which, as a rule, are quite spacious, you can use a parallel layout.

"Island"

Sometimes due to the presence of windows and the location of doors, no traditional layout option allows you to place all the necessary appliances and storage systems. In such cases, the interiors of dining rooms complement the "island". It can be fitted with a cooking surface or an additional sink, while in the lower part there are cupboards with shelves and sliding doors. In some cases, the continuation of the "island" is a small dining table. It can be transformable and retract or shrink in size after use. It should be noted that the options with the "island" are suitable only for fairly spacious kitchen-dining rooms. Otherwise, you can create an additional working surface or organize a dining area with high stools in the manner of those put in bars using a wide sill.

Parallel Layout

As already mentioned, the interior of the dining room-kitchen, if it is a fairly spacious room, you can arrange placing furniture and equipment in parallel in 2 rows and installing in its center a large dining table with original stools. This option is especially suitable for a walk-in room or one that has a large window in the center of one of the walls.

In addition, with the parallel arrangement of kitchen furniture, as well as household appliances and work surfaces, you can use the "island", and move the dining room group into a corner.

Dining room: interior ideas

If the room where it is supposed to take food, also serves as a living room and kitchen, then it will require a variety of furniture. In particular, a comfortable dining area can be arranged with a soft corner. Among other things, this solution will save space.

A great option - to place furniture for the dining area in the bay window (glazed ledge on the facade of the building). It often happens in private houses, but today such an architectural detail can be seen on the facades of new buildings. Installation of soft seats in the shape of the bay window allows you to spend family meals at the window, as well as save space.

The problem of a long, narrow, combined kitchen can also be solved if you use the right furniture. For the dining room in this case, a long sofa in the shape of the letter "G", which is better to install as a continuation of the kitchen set. If you move the dining table away from it, then the dining area will turn into a resting place, especially if the LCD panel is fixed to the wall opposite.

Do not ignore and such detail as sliding door-partitions. With their help, the dining room can be combined with a kitchen or living room.

In the design of rooms intended for a meal, a special role is given to color solutions. With their help you can make the room visually more spacious or even affect the appetite.

Interiors of dining-living rooms

The option of combining the functions of a room for family rest and eating in the same room is the best match for our mentality. After all, many Russians continue to happily arrange feasts and receive guests. In the dining-living rooms it is required to carry out competent zoning in order to separate the place for meals from the corner for rest. This task is facilitated if the room has a niche or it is combined with a loggia.

Otherwise, the zoning can be carried out by using two different types of floor coverings, layered hanging ceilings, etc. Even the use of wallpaper, differing in color and texture, for the wall, which is supposed to establish a dining table and chairs, allows creating modern interiors of dining rooms and living rooms. In the case of private houses, real columns can also be used (without load-bearing functions), and stucco imitating such decor elements is perfect for classicist design even in a small room.

Now you know what a modern dining room interior can be like. The main criterion for choosing a particular option should be to achieve maximum comfort for all those who live in the house. After all, joint meals are extremely important for creating a warm and cozy family atmosphere.
