Infertility after abortion

Many young girls and women who are pregnant or "not on time" or "not on that" are being treated for such a serious operation as abortion. At the same time, they often do not particularly think that infertility after abortion is overtaken by a very large number of women who have decided to get rid of pregnancy.

Abortion is a gross and very traumatic interference in a woman's body. It can never be completely and surely predicted the result of such a complex procedure. Even an experienced doctor in carrying out such an operation can tolerate an unforeseen error, which often ends pitifully. The various consequences of abortions, manifested in the form of various kinds of complications, have a certain percentage, varying at different periods of termination of pregnancy. So, the number of cases of various complications is:

- up to 8 weeks inclusive - 1%;

- 8 -12 weeks-2%;

- 12-13 weeks - 6%;

More than 13 weeks - more than 50%.

Even abortions performed in the best clinics have serious consequences. The most frequent manifestations of the consequences of such an operation are various infections. The consequences of abortions caused by infectious diseases also often lead to the inability to become pregnant. Even prolonged treatment can not change this situation for the better.

Of course, infertility after abortion, conducted outside a specialized clinic, is the most common. During the operation in unsuitable conditions for this, most often the infection of a woman occurs. Around the world, a large number of young women die from the effects of community-acquired abortions.

The probability of complications with reduced immunity of a woman is increased, which often occurs during pregnancy. If during the operation an infection was present in the body of the woman, she is most likely to enter the bloodstream through the blood vessels of the uterus, which can lead to infection of the blood, which often ends in a fatal outcome.

Infertility after abortion is a consequence of continuing uterine bleeding. If during the abortion the tissues of the uterus are severely damaged and the patient has blood clotting disorders, in this situation there is a high probability of severe bleeding, which sometimes stops only after the removal of the uterus.

The main factor that results in infertility after abortion is considered to be the severity of the injury of the uterus. During the operation, the cervix is forced to expand, during which it can be damaged. The consequence of such damage are frequent miscarriages. In some cases, there is a rupture of the uterine wall by a medical probe.

During the abortion there is a thorough scraping of the uterus, so that parts of the removed fetus do not stay inside it. At the same time, the inner layer of its walls is severely damaged, which forms scars upon healing. Often, scar tissue can cover the entrances to the fallopian tubes, so a fertilized cage can not enter the uterus and attach to its wall. Often such a cell is fixed inside the tubes, which leads to an ectopic pregnancy that ends with the removal of the fallopian tube.

After the abortion, the menstrual cycle is broken. The largest risk of hormonal disorders is in nulliparous women. Recovery of the normal cycle can be delayed for six months, and sometimes more.

No less dangerous is the consequence of abortion, carried out with the help of certain drugs. Infections and severe bleeding become frequent consequences of such interruption of pregnancy. It is not uncommon for parts of the fetus to remain in the uterus, causing the need for additional curettage.
