How to spell words

In order for a schoolchild to develop the ability to write correctly, experienced teachers use such a method of teaching as spelling the word, despite the fact that not all modern textbooks provide this analysis in their program. In the process of implementing this algorithm, the child has knowledge of the morphemic composition of parts of speech. In addition, this way, the student is easier to remember many of the rules and principles of spelling.

To spell-check the words in the lesson, the teacher is recommended to select words for the orthographs already studied. The parsing algorithm can be approximately the following.

To start, the selected word is written out separately. If a letter is missed in it, then it is inserted. Next, a part of the speech is determined and all the morphemes that are present are distinguished. After this, the student should designate all the orthograms he saw. If the child missed something, it is desirable for the teacher to tell him about it before moving on to the next stage.

The next step is a brief analysis of each orthogram. To do this, the student needs to designate her type, give a brief description of the identity, and give reasons for choosing her writing. In high school, it is recommended to name the principle of spelling, to which this rule corresponds.

In practice, to show the spelling of words, an example can be given the following. Adjective "shameless" contains 4 orthograms. The first of them in the prefix (demonic) refers to the rule of spelling of vowel sounds in this part of the word. The rule says that in this case, -e- is written regardless of the pronunciation. Prefixes bis-in Russian does not exist.

Further spelling of the word provides an explanation of the spelling of the deaf-s. In this case, this letter is written due to the fact that after it follows another deaf. Both orthograms correspond to the phonetic principle.

Orthographic parsing of the word can be included at any stage of the lesson, but the maximum effect such exercises will give when fixing the material. In this example, "shameless" also has a "weak" sound in the root-sovest-. Here the writing is not checked, this unstressed vowel needs to be remembered. This orthogram refers to the traditional principle of the Russian language. The last case of writing, explained in this word, is an unpronounceable consonant sound -t-. In order to check it, it is enough to choose a single root root noun, in which the sound is in a strong position (conscience).

In some cases, it is appropriate to invite students to bring verifying or similar words to this rule. This can be done either verbally or in writing.

Including the spelling of the word in the Russian language classes from the primary school, the teacher helps to form the children's skills of literate informed writing. And pronouncing aloud the rules of writing, the students fix them. In addition, these exercises can not be better suited to learn to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
