How the uterus is arranged, its functions

To know how to prepare for the birth of the cervix, you need to know about what it is needed for and what role its neck plays. Uterus is an organ that is a hollow sac. Before pregnancy, it looks like a blown ball with dimensions up to 10 cm. During pregnancy, the embryo develops in it, and the uterus stretches as it grows. Special collagen fibers that appear during pregnancy make it elastic. At the 38-39th week the uterus is completely ready for childbirth and is able to push the fruit out with its cuts. The first barrier at the exit of the fetus is the cervix. And if it is not soft and elastic, it will prevent the normal flow of labor. In order not to wonder urgently how to prepare the cervix for childbirth, when they already occur, it is necessary to do this in advance.

Determination of the maturity of the cervix and on what it depends

How mature the cervix, the doctors measure according to a special scale, taking into account the extent to which the following symptoms are expressed: the length of the cervix, its consistency and location relative to the pelvic axis, and also how much the cervical canal passes. Each of these signs is evaluated on a scale of 0-2 points. For the preparation of the cervix, hormones called prostaglandins are responsible. They affect uterine contraction.
