Many beginner growers want to grow a real citrus tree on their plot or in an apartment on the window. It is not enough to get glossy fragrant foliage and a smooth trunk - the main question is how to plant a lemon at home. Since without this mandatory procedure, a gardener has little hope of the appearance and maturation of fruits.

Lemon tree grows relatively quickly, but sour fruits appear only for 8-15 years of natural vegetation. If you do an uncomplicated but very important job, you can get the first flowers already in the second year of growth. How to plant a homemade lemon correctly? Their secrets are shared by experienced gardeners: you can heal cuttings or perform the procedure of budding.

Vaccination with the help of small shoots is carried out at any time of the year, but in the spring the most active growth is observed in this plant. March is considered the ideal month for the first attempt at working with cuttings. Most citrus tree owners are interested in how to plant a lemon from a bone and what materials and tools will be needed. For starters, a rootstock is chosen, on which the cutting will be fixed. Its diameter should be within 1.5 cm, and the maximum age - up to 3 years. This method allows you to use rootstocks from lemons, grapefruits, mandarins and oranges, and these citrus fruits can act as cuttings themselves.

Before planting a lemon at home, it is necessary to prepare a sharp or special knife for this procedure, garden var, original graft and film. Use a shooter with an age of up to one year from a healthy, fruit-bearing tree. The length of the shoot can reach 10 cm, and the graft should have a green cortex and a minimum of three kidneys.
