How to make a press for grapes with your own hands?

To date, there are several ways of making and growing grapes in both home and industrial environments. However, what remains unchanged is the technology of squeezing fresh juice from berries. In it, regardless of the place and type of production, a special press for grapes is used. Of course, in industry its dimensions and productivity are much more than home-made variants, however, it is simply not advisable to purchase such a device for domestic purposes, as there are enough devices made for oneself for 10 and even 50 liters of wine. But after all, everyone can make a press for the grapes, while at the same time spending a minimum of money, time and effort for work.

We make a roller crusher

As you know, this device is able to extract from fruits all useful substances, vitamins and mineral salts. Therefore, for qualitative grinding of berries, it is necessary to install a roller crusher. You can make it with the help of improvised tools. All you need to make is a wooden frame, a loading bucket and 2 swaths fixed in the bearings on the frame. And, of course, do not forget to make a handle to rotate. Basically the main material here is a tree, so we will not use any welding machines or other complex devices.

In order to make a frame, you need to prepare several wooden bars about 60-70 centimeters in length with a section of 10x4 cm. At the same time, the width of the finished device will be enviable from the size of the rollers. The optimal size is about 15-20 centimeters on average. In this case, the distance between the transverse bars should be equal to the sum of the length of the rolls. When calculating this distance, add another 10 cm to the obtained value. So you get the most optimal and practical in size design.

As for these instruments, they need to be made corrugated. The depth of each reef should be about 2-3 centimeters. Finished products must be directed to the axes of the rolls helically, making a small shift within 2 centimeters for every 10 cm of the roll. The received mechanism should be fixed on the main frame, that is to the home press for the grapes, and to provide movement by means of bearings. Remember that the rolls will rotate on the axis at different speeds, so the gears must be applied with different diameters. The gear ratio is 1: 2. If the size of the gears is the same, you will have to do this work with the rolls, reducing their size by this gear ratio. Only then your homemade grape press will be able to provide a different rotation speed for berries.

Further it is necessary to fix a wooden bucket of a pyramidal form above the rolls and a handle. The latter must be attached to one side of the mechanism. The clearance between the rollers is made manageable in order to ensure a normal compression of the fruit, depending on their size.
