How to choose a new one and where to sell an old car battery in Moscow

Needless to say to motorists and fans about how important it is to prepare your "pet" for frost. And here special attention should be paid to the car battery. So...

But if you are not an experienced driver and can not do everything right the first time, do not be discouraged, because there is a purchase of used car batteries in Moscow and you can easily compensate a significant part of the cost of the battery.
Battery selection.

The modern market is full of offers, so it is worth taking into account several defining characteristics of the battery.

The volume. Do not be stingy to take a battery with large storage capacity, however, consider also the reliability, the manufacturer's warranty. You also need to know the required power to your car's battery in Ampere-hour.

Climate-marking, red or blue, respectively suitable for hot and cold climates.

The actual dimensions of the battery, its shape, the location of the terminals.

It is also important to consider that a fully charged battery can not be stored in the cold, otherwise the density of the electrolyte inside it will decrease, and this will lead to its complete worthlessness.

Charge the battery with the charger.

First of all, remember to charge only a fully discharged battery. Previously, it must be removed and not less than an hour is in a warm room.

Using a screwdriver, unscrew the plugs that block the battery and connect the terminals to the corresponding contacts of the charger, in the order of connection, first positive, then negative (also the same at the end of the process).

Correctly configure the charger, the current supply should not exceed 10% of the battery capacity.

If the voltage and density of the electrolyte are stable for several hours, then the battery is fully charged.

Full nights of charge, and after a day of downtime - you will not get?

Check the density of the electrolyte in the battery. To do this you will need a special device - an acid meter. The check is carried out only after a minimum of six hours after being removed from the charge.

We unscrew all the plugs from the accumulator and place the acid meter in the cells, collecting the electrolyte by the "pipette" method. For the battery to function properly under the appropriate climatic conditions, the indicator should be no less than ~ 1.25 kg / l, while the indications of other cells should differ in the range of ~ 0.03 kg / l. If the battery reading is lower, it should be changed.

On the cells, put only the "native" plugs and watch for the condition of the gaskets in them.

Perhaps, this is exactly what you should know before the onset of a particularly capricious period of winter temperatures.
