How does the yorks heat up?

Each dog in life sooner or later comes a period of estrus. This condition is called in cynologists "estrus" - from the Latin word for "passion". This process concerns both the physiology of the animal and its psychology, because during the estrus the behavior of the dog changes drastically. And this applies to any animal of any breed. Even such small pets as Yorkies, during the period of estrus, can behave a little inadequately, according to their owners. Usually at this time the dog's behavior can fluctuate from frankly aggressive to sluggish and drowsy. How does the yoke run? Symptoms of the onset of this period in the life of your dog can easily be determined by a change in its habitual behavior. Home pets can become playful or on the contrary - drowsy, leave more tags during a walk, give up food and simply be capricious.

Usually, the estrus in dogs begins at different times, depending on the breed, the size of the animal and the individual characteristics of the organism. Most often, puberty occurs for a period of six months to one and a half years. In York, the first heat usually happens after reaching 9-12 months. But sometimes estrus can start later.

The duration of estrus in dogs is from twenty to twenty-two days. For the first week the animal is not yet ready for mating, this is the period of maturation of ovarian follicles and their preparation for fertilization. At this time, despite the fact that the estrus in the york has already begun, the female never lets the males to her. Although the physiological signs of its desire for binding are already there: the sexual organs become more noticeable and slightly swollen, there are spotting.

After the first week, the following days, up to 13 days, are the best for fertilization. At this time, the selection in the dog becomes lighter and acquires a specific smell, which signals to the males about the bitch's willingness to mate. And the dog itself during this period shows an increased interest in the opposite sex. In this regard, since the heat in York has already begun, you should take precautions: do not drive these days the animal to the exhibition, so as not to disturb the males that will be exhibited, do not trust the python's walking to children - they may not keep track of it. In order not to create undesirable mating, it is better not to leave the dog at all without supervision at this time.

After two weeks, usually the allocation gradually ceases, by the 20th day the desire for males and the manifestation of non-standard behavior are reduced. After this, the yoke in York is considered complete. The next can take a lot of time. Most often, its repetition should be expected not earlier than in six months. But the feature of the breed is estrus, which takes place not more often than once a year. Throughout life, the length of the intervals between the estrus in a dog can vary.

Features of care for the dog during this period are as follows: they should be bathed with caution, because at this time the genitals are very susceptible to infections. For this reason, it is better to exclude swimming in open water. Representatives of this breed - animals are clean, but if the allocation is too strong, the dog can periodically gently wash away. To sound the alarm follows, if the estrus in York lasts for more than 30 days or if the discharge acquires a greenish or yellowish tinge - in that case, you should contact the vet as soon as possible.
