Historical facts

This Big Circus was designed by the talented engineers Yefim Petrovich Vulykh and Yakov Borisovich Beropolsky, and was later erected under their watchful leadership. His grand opening took place in the spring of 1971.

Since 1978 and for five consecutive years, the famous Moscow People's Artist Evgeny Timofeevich Milayev headed the Great Moscow Circus on Vernadsky Prospekt, who, besides that, was also Hero of Socialist Labor.

When in the eighties of the last century circus on the Blvd. Boulevard was closed for major repairs, lasting about four years, this cultural institution remained the only one in the capital, which continued its performances.

How to get there?

The Great Moscow State Circus is located in the south-west of the capital, and more precisely, in the Gagarin district, and its neighbor is the Botanical Garden of Moscow University.
